But Drake and Bieber are nominated? Absolute travesty.

Chance is definitely a surprise not being nominated for AOTY, I was almost certain he'd get in. I want to be sure in thinking that he'll win Best Rap Album/Best New Artist (though I'd be okay with Anderson .Paak taking the latter).
I think there might have been a worry of David Bowie getting sympathy votes, no disrespect of course, but some people would end up voting on their thoughts about the artist rather than the album itself. There were just so many great albums with more acclaim, and more mainstream impact, that Blackstar does seems a reasonable omission.

Rap artists very rarely win Best New Artist. The last ones who did were Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and that was only because they had pop success. Before them I'm pretty sure it was Lauryn Hill.
I think New Artist will go to Maren Morris.

That's a sad track record for the Grammy's on that front, rap artists are usually some of the best new artists around.
That considered, I'd hope they'd give it to Anderson .Paak. He's not a rapper, he's more of an all-rounder who does some rapping.

A few points in metacritic score it is still acclaimed and was commercially successful but I'm kind of glad they didn't nominate him for the simple fact that they never honoured him while he was alive despite his acclaim, influence and legacy and don't see why they should do it now.

Okay, but like I said, more acclaimed whether it's by a few points or not. I didn't deny it was acclaimed, only that it's easy to understand why it wasn't nominated.
People specifically saying things like "Justin/Drake stole his place" have to realise that no one's entitled to a nom.

The Grammy's have sh*t on David Bowie many times. He's one of the most iconic and beloved musicians of all time, and has never one a Grammy for his albums. (he only won lifetime achievement awards).
Then there was the cheap Vegas promotion for INTEL replicated by Gaga in costume, the worst.
And now Justin Bieber has a nom over Bowie, what a pathetic joke. -

I'm not surprised. The Grammys are a complete and utter joke. Anyone who looks at Grammy wins as a sign of credibility or validation needs a psychiatric evaluation.
