I think you need to revise your statement to: "Marvel is nothing without Disney"
LOL Fox Marvel movies received quite praise and they were the first one, the comic book movie frenzy we have today is because Bryan Singer did X-Men, he was widely praised, others followed the trend including Sam Raimi, the sucess of Singer X2 and Raimi's Spidey trilogy made quite a trend, Disney jumped on the bandwagon, Disney didn't set any trend, Disney is Gaga not Madonna.

LMAO. Yes let's just ignore all the BATMAN movies in the 90's that paved the way for X-Men to be successful

To be fair, Batman Forever and Batman and Robin destroyed the interest in comic book movies. No one thought they could be successful again until X-Men in 2000.

People are talking about the tone and style of the early X-Men films that laid the groundwork for the success of TDK trilogy and the MCU.

LMAO that is REACH if I ever saw one. X3 killed the X-Men franchise in the same way Batman and Robin killed the 90's Batman franchise. TDK came out years later and has different tone from the X-Men films.

              X3 killed the X-Men franchise
It polarized the GP, Batman and Robin was widely hated and the X-Men franchise survived, First Class praised, Days Of Future Past praised, Apocalypse praised.

Singer's first two X-Men films. No one is talking about X3. It's a very common opinion that it's directly responsible for influencing modern superhero cinema.
Christopher Nolan reportedly told Hugh Jackman that X-Men was an influence on his Batman.
There wasnt really a superhero genre before X-Men came out. Funny enough, I remember catching a plane while we were promoting The Prestige with Chris Nolan [who] said to me that hed always had the Batman in his mind. Even way back before 2000, he had the version of Batman that he ended up making in his head. He said, when I went into the cinema and saw X-Men, I said damn, thats my idea.
The idea that you could really dive in to the emotional life, to the vulnerability of these characters and that, as well as being fantastical, amazing and action, is whats going to hook people and make them care. Thats what Bryan did, he had a lot of courage to do that.

And Singer wasn't involved on X3, that was Brett Ratner and people hate him.

X3 was horrible and I highly doubt that is the X-men film that influenced Nolan.
As for MCUthey have been wiping the floor with DC. No one ever really anticipated a stand alone WW film outperforming a film starring both Batman and Superman, and I don't see it happening nownot with Gadot as lead. A one-note performance doesn't influence re-watch value.

                    Cheers!

Schumacher's Batman movies destroyed the interest of the public on genre, X-men was a light in the dark, no one cares for the 90s Batman franchise, Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy already surpassed it even though Christian Bale was mi1ebcscast.

Marvel sticks to the same formula, and it works for them. Their films will always be more successful and highly praised, and they'll always be ahead of DC.
But let's be real, Spider-Man and the X-Men are the only interesting Marvel characters. Iron Man was nothing before Robert Downy Jr. Their films rely too much on humor and spectacle.
DC has far more interesting characters and storylines, though. There's countless stories in the comics that they could use for inspiration, but they're still stumbling trying to find what they want their film universe to be.
I'd still ratchter watch a 3-hour epic like BvS than sit through dull characters cracking jokes at each other during action set pieces for 2 hours like Civil War.
Marvel is what gets you into comics as a child, but DC is what you grow up to love.

DC should win next year. Spiderman will flop. Thor and Guardians will do great but nothing like Captain America. I have faith in WW and JL.

That's what people said this year about BvS and Suicide Squad. But Marvel keeps right on topping them.

I am a huge Marvel comic fan. But this Spiderman looks dreadful. Aunt May looks to be in her 30s. Thor does good not great. Guardians should do really well.
Still SS was never gonna be amazing. Wonder Woman looks to have much more potential, the character is beyond iconic. Justice League looks good too and has a lot of hype.
What matters in life is not what happens to you but what you remember and how you remember it.

I'm actually rooting for Spider-Man next year, it sounds like they're FINALLY going to get it right. And the first Guardians was good, I think the second one will be even better.
But yeah, no one is here for Thor. Wonder Woman and Justice League look promising, as long as WB doesn't interfere. Batman v Superman extended cut was brilliant, and all of of the deleted scenes from Suicide Squad would have MADE the film. I just wish the studio would trust the directors.

Spidey won't do as good as Raimi's Spidey, Thor will flop again cause the character is boring and people will only watch it because of Loki, Guardians will do good, but if it fails to be as good as the first one(like Iron Man 2) i'm pretty sure it won't gross 1 million.
                                  16d0
JL will be more fun and it has a good cast so i'm pretty sure it's sucess, WW will easily do 500 million, at max it can do Suicide Squad numbers.

Considering Spider-Man is the most popular Marvel hero and up there with Batman and Superman in terms of recognition, I'm sure the first movie will be huge.

I liked Doctor Strange, but once again it isn't as good as people are making out. MCU is fairly predictable and underwhelming at this point. I'm over their films, I much prefer their TV shows. They're far more interesting. DC is a mess though, SS was TERRIBLE. It was worse than Catwoman. BvS was okay, bit underwhelming.
I'm excited for Wonder Woman, LOGAN and GOTG 2. I can take or leave Spider-Man, I don't think they'll top the first two film from the original trilogy.

I don't think Doctor Strange will do better financially than both Bvs and Suicide Squad, let's be real. And $$$ is what matters in Hollywood.
