When Reaper got put into limbo last summer he was one of the first guys to join another show. I can't blame him for wanting to make sure he had work if Reaper didnt pan out, but now that Sons of Tuscon is essentially cancelled (they are airing the final episodes this summer, and I doubt they are planning to re-evaluate the show after they air, or that the show will get enough viewers at that point to be renewed).
Reaper was being put up for syndication soon after the cw decided to not pick it up again (its a confusing situation thats hard to explain) but when 2 major actors left (one of them was Labine, and bret harrison followed) the show's fate was sealed. Now Labine's show has been cancelled and Harrison's project is still in production, it seems their moves were the wrong ones.
Like I said earlier I cant blame them for looking for work, and the real enemy is CW for choosing teen bop crap/reboots of old shows over a great show. Reaper was just about guaranteed syndication, but there was some negotiations to be had, that definitely fell through when the actors started landing other roles.
Now the creators are working on another show, and most of the actors are unavailable, Reaper was so good, and now its just another victim of the CW's horrible management decisions.

As I recall, Reaper would've been canceled anyway with or without him being there. While the ratings were still better than most of the other new shows on the CW, the executives made it no secret that they weren't fans and were probably going to drop it anyway. Also, the creators not only left the show, but left ABC studios (the company that produced "Reaper") and it was before any decision was made on the fate of the show. Without them be1c84ing on board, it probably gave The CW more of a reason to cancel the show. So, if you have to blame anyone.. blame Dawn Ostroff.

Okay. This is Tyler Labine. I am sick and tired of people talking about what they don't know. There was absolutely NOOOOOOOOOO chance Reaper was being picked up ANYWHERE!! Also, Bret and I were always still attached to do a season 3 of Reaper IF it got picked up. We did NOT leave the show. We were not only happy to do it but contractually obligated to! We both took offers to do other projects in 2nd position, which is a very common thing in this industry. Bret and I doing these other projects had absolutely no influence on whether Reaper was coming back or not. We loved the show, it was our baby and probably were more hurt to see it go than you could ever be. So please just know that and stop trying to pin the cancellation on anyone but The CW. As for our newer choices being the wrong ones, I don't think you realize how hard it is to get a show on the air and to stay there. Reaper would've been canned and Bret and I would have been stuck with our thumbs up our asses with nothing in the pipe. Tell me how that is a better choice than trying to get a new show on the air. We are all just trying to make shows that we like and we think you guys will like. Thats ALL. Thanks for kinda belittling my career. TY.

Dude, don't let them get to you The IMDB trolls will say anything at three am in their mothers' basements to get a response out of someone in this world..
Anyway, beep TV. You should get some more movie roles. Just saw Tucker and Dale last night at the SF Hole-in-the-Head fest and it ROCKED. One of the most entertaining films I've seen in a LONG time.. I nearly broke the seat in front of me in the theater from kicking it while laughing (it's okay, it was unoccupied at the time). I really hope some Hollywood dumbass-with-money realizes the potential of the flick and gets it adequately distributed.. Hell, if I had ANY money (which sadly after being unemployed for over a year, I don't) I'd invest in distribution in that movie and live quite comfortably on the inevitable proceeds..
Good luck with the new pilot/project and hope you always get plenty of offers, because you should. You're one of the funniest comedic actors out there, imho.

There'll always be someone kissing ass when trying to be pally with a famous actor!
Anyway, I only saw a couple of episodes of this as it was never on when I wasn't at work, but what I did see was fairly funny. Having said that, Tyler was far funnier and more able to shine in Tucker and Dale. Now THAT was a funny movie! -

HAHAHAHA that's what the internet is for
Complaining about things we know nothing about! Hell, Al Gore won a nobel prize for that
Keep acting long enough people will start blaming you for the state of the economy!
Just remember the immortal words of Clint Eastwood in Heartbreak Ridge "Don't give the prk
the satisfaction"
I just hope your next show has some staying power. Although I'm still not 100% sure if Sons of Tucson was cancelled. -

Reaper was a wonderfully quirky and enjoyable show. From all I've heard and read it seems that amid all of the scrambling between being canceled and not canceled, Tyler Labine pulled the Suzanne Somers card. No offense, but Sons of Tucson seemed to appear pretty quickly and then went nowhere. I grew up in the industry so I have a fair idea of what I'm talking about. I'm sure the CW are absolutely to blame for the cancellation, but I still feel that maybe Mr. Labine jumped a ship where he was a much celebrated first mate thinking he might captain another, larger ship into battle a bit too quickly. Instead of winning the war, the new ship sunk. Very sad for everyone, viewers, cast and crew alike.
And you sir blah bine, who are perhaps or perhaps not who you say you are, I'm sure you must have heard about loyal fans sending their socks to the studio in protest of Reapers' cancellation. There is always a chance if the people are behind a show. I will again simply say SUZANNE SOMERS. Be happy as the first mate we all love and don't pretend that you're just trying to make things "we all will like". You are trying to make a living just the same as everyone. A starring role in your 5b4very own sitcom probably smelled pretty sweet next to playing second banana on a show with a flimsy chance at staying on the air from season to season, but don't blow poop perfume on the IMDB thinking people don't get that you might have gotten a little too big for your hilarious sidekick britches, sir. -

Come on, ptiming. You're making a fool of yourself.
Anyway, I loved Reaper. Season 2 was even better than the first, so I hoped it would run for years to come.
But it was cancelled and would not have come back if the actors were available.
If the fans work hard enough, there is a one-in-a-billion chance it gets picked up again like Futurama.
But none of the actors are to blame. Neither are the crew.
Not enough ratings = cancelled. -

Just got done watching the entire series of Reaper on Netflix. Perfect. I loved it so much. Sock made me laugh in nearly every episode. I was pretty upset when I got to the end of episode 31, got on the internet, and realized that the show is no more and will be no more. It is sad that such a great concept and cast could not survive. The show, to me, seems like a much better fill Sunday nights after the animation domination then Sons of Tuscan could ever be.

This is really just pointless, and I'm guessing you didn't hear what he did for the show. Tyler saved the show, he was the only one out there trying to get the show back for another season. He went out there on twitter asking for fans to send in there socks because the show was cancelled after just one season. After this all happened they agreed on another season, but it didn't fare very well in the rating system so they cancelled it again. Which I don't blame Tyler for not trying to beat a dead horse again, it didn't work out oh well. Go enjoy Tucker and Dale vs Evil it's pure comedy gold.
If you like his work and the wa5b4y he acts just be happy after 3 or 4 years now since the show was cancelled, because now he has time to prefect his writing and screen plays. The stuff he's done since Reaper is pretty amazing and you should try to find it like Tucker and Dale Vs Evil is a prime example of some of his latest work,
