My list, from best to worst:
- Timothy Dalton
- George Lazenby
- Sean Connery
- Roger Moore
- Pierce Brosnan
Dalton and Lazenby are the only actors who potrayed Bond as human rather than a Superman type (Moore & Connery) or were just plain boring (Brosnan). Lazenby had more realistic fight scenes than any other Bond including Dalton, my favorite. But Dalton was by far the best and most dramatic actor of the 5, IMO. I have a bad feeling that the producers will try to find another Brosnan for Casino Royale, i.e another dull, metrosexual who can't act.

Sad isn't it. You think they would have learned by now. Everyone was so sure that Brosnan was the man before he got the role, how he would be the best Bond since Connery, yadda yadda. Thing is, he got the role and failed miserably. All he was was another pretty face with no teeth for acting. The only ones still claiming Brosnan was any good are his lil fanboys who can't let go.

I admit I used to be a Pierce fanboy, I got started on Bond with his films, BUT having recently seen OHMSS and that two dalton films, I now realize Pierce is pretty lame as Bond.
George Lazenby was actually a really amazing Bond, if he stuck with it, I think he would be remembered as THE Bond, not Connery. -

Nods. I wish Lazenby had staid on until
For Your Eyes Only
, and then Dalton could have taken over and played through
Goldeneye
. Hell, if that had happened I wouldn't really mind that Brosnan was Bond for
Tomorrow Never Dies
through
Casino Royale
. It would have meant some seven Lazenby films and five Dalton films, which would definately have been a lot different than the direction that Moore took us on.
Shrug. But so is life, at least we got what we got.

You know the fact remains that Connery caused 100 times more problems and headaches for Eon than Lazenby ever did, YET I have never seen a Bond fan say "Connery sucks because he was difficult to work with." Kind of a double standard there a bit?

lazenby was the worst bond ever.connery was the best .we loved bond movies coz of connery
Speak for yourself. I only like 3 of Connery's films. The rest were crap. While in your opinion Lazenby was the worst and Connery the best, I feel Lazenby was the second best (after Dalton) and Connery 3rd string.

If you really think he was the worst Bond ever, then you really need to get through your 'thick skull' that you have no idea about Bond. Lazenby can't be compared to Connery - Lazenby was good at this role because he didn't try to be like Connery. He played Bond his own way - which, personally, I think was brilliant. I have only recently watched this movie and I have NEVER been a Bond fan until now. You need to stop being so arrogant and get through your 'thick skull' that Connery really was just a good looking guy with a Scottish accent. That's it!!!

I've read that when Lazenby arrived for the premiere of "OHMSS," he showed up wearing a beard and long hair, and sporting casual clothes. In other words, totally unrecognizable from his character in the movie. This really irritated the Bond movie producers, who were hoping to promote Lazenby at this event.

He also showed up on Johnny Carson's "Tonight" looking like a hippie, and distancing himself from the part. I remember being appalled at the time.
He was definitely the victim of bad advice. But, then again, there is a two-edged sword involved. Too many times have perfectly good actors been so identified with one role that their careers suffer as a result. Ideally, Lazenby could have made at least one or two more, then moved on. Seven or more could have affected his career even worse. -

BEST BOND EVER! He looks the part, he talks the part and no-one could have pulled off what was the most emotional scene Bond ever had to do, except Brosnan.
1 George Lazzenby
2 Pierce Brosnan
3 Sean Connery
4 Timothy Dalton
5 Roger Moore
