A fine actor and like everyone else agrees, pulled off Burns like no other.
But I just can't help looking at pictures of him from the post-MAS*H years and notice he unfortunately aged even quicker up until his untimely death.

Oh I agree, I thought he was much older. He was only 4 years older than Gary Burghoff.
He looked like he was in his 40's when he was playing Frank Burns and he was only in his 30's. There's a video of him on youtube of the Howard Stern Show when he was about 50 and he looks 70. Maybe he drank or had an unhealthy lifestyle.
