Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Larry Linville

    jirvin-4 — 18 years ago(February 08, 2008 07:06 PM)

I did a show (stage play) with Larry shortly before he was married the last time to Deborah.
Larry was one in a million. He stayed over at our house a number of times and would come over for dinner and drinks. Always had a fresh story to tell. I think Larry was quite lonely during this period. We were delighted he found someone to share his life with and were sad at his death.

That is good to hear that you were able to work with Larry on stage and also able to socialize with him and your family.
Larry was a great actor, who adds a lot to his roles. Very sad that he passed at a young age. I'll bet that his stories were interesting.

Hardly young! 50s to 70s is about where people start to get picked off more frequently. 70s and above is the high end, not the average.

Sixty is actually considered fairly young still. My parents are 89 and 87 respectively. The expected life span of the average American male is something like 82 now.

My grandmother lived to 96. Her older sister lived to 97. Her youngest sister is still alive and is 96. I just read about the world's oldest living person, and she is 116. 60 is relatively young.
I came here and found out that Larry had died. I did not know this. So sad to hear of his passing. He did an episode of "A Different World" in the fifth season, and I recognized him, but could not think of his name.
