so you're saying it a double standard bc girls who do this end up losing their careers much sooner than guys?
you know why don't you? its bc girls have a much higher standard of how they look in movies and tv shows. you can have an overweight 50 yo old man who play the main part on tv like that cop show with vincent d'nofrio yet his partner that blonde girl has to be in shape and beautiful.
also girls faces have to look pretty enough and aging takes this away by 40 for girls yet guys can still look good at 50 bc they don't have to look pretty like girls do, bc guys look more rugged than girls. this is true in life in general.

I think you aren't looking at this like Hollywood looks at it.
To Hollywood, young women are a commodity. They are meat. Cattle.
Lindsey found some success, but was also in the meat market.
When a person finds a lot of success doing one thing when they are in their formative years, then tend to stick to it. Hence, why you have so many crazy people doing maladaptive things in their 30's, 40's and beyond. Many people have midlife crises in order to depattern themselves. Some people do it cyclically because they keep getting bailed out and end up not having to figure out a new approach to the world. Some people who have means retreat more into fantasy, like those presented in the virtual world.
In Hollywood, being promiscuous will help you land jobs (as quid pro quo). But that person will tend to just double down on looking beautiful in an increasingly competitive market where they aren't fresh meat anymore. They will try things but end up becoming mess, like a recipe that had too many fetishizing cooks in that particular soup.
So yeah, I do agree that she used up her allure as that innocent girl. But unless she did the work to become better actor, she wouldn't have found that next stage of success regardless. -

have you seen her nowadays? holy **** she looks ancient nowadays. i mean she has that old, haggard, plastic surgery, real housewives, 50 year old woman face and she's only ****ing 38 now!??? this is amazing to me how washed up, old, and ugly her face looks now. and she started looking this way a few years ago even.
in her netflix christmas movie she looks unrecognizable, like a bot or something or a double for her. its shocking how old and ugly and different she looks now.
i hate how they kept saying she'll be back, she'll be a star again in hollywood back around 2010. this never happened.
do you think she was never as good of an actor as they said?

Her ability as an actress needs context. We don't really expect as much from people the younger they are. With certain people, we

to believe more. Life is a series of experiences that we craft narratives around and in that way, we give meaning to things. We don't have expectations with some people and we're also willing to apply more energy to fill in the gaps in a positive way. As she gets older, she doesn't get a pass. You can see that in this thread compared to older threads. You can also see that when you look around at the people in your life over the years. You can probably see that in your own life as well, unless you are tall, handsome and exceedingly wealthy.
I think it would be more challenging for an actor without much life experience to play in an adult drama believably since they've most likely been very detached from the same struggles that give regular people their truth.
As far as looks are concerned, she could probably make a career of playing older women. If I were to get into acting, I would love to be a Patrick Stewart or Morgan Freeman for the next 50 years, always playing that old guy, racking up those credits and cashing those paychecks.
How the hell did she bag so many men back then? She was an absolute mess lol.
