She did a great job in Drag me to hell. I wasn't completely distracted by her hotness, and was able to follow along with the movie without fantasizing too much about all the naughty things I would love to do to her, so she must have done something right. That might not be the m2000ost formal of validations, but valid none the less.

You have got to be beep me. she was like a peice of cardboard up there! that was easily one of the worst lead performances in 2009.
beep sake. what movie were u watching!? she was horrible! she really dropped the ball on this one.
If you watch this movie again watch out for the scene where Rham says
"be strong christine" - or something
and she says "I'll try."
watch that scene and tell me again how great of an actor she is in this.
she murderd just about all her lines. destroyed this movie. failed at the comedy and and failed at the serious acting.
horrible.
Alot of the time on these boards there isnt really a right or wrong opinion.
But im sorry, if you thought this was good acting, you are wrong. with that performance she isnt even worthy to be cast in the scary mvoie series. -

I don't think the movie worked for me (seemed more like the tone-deaf Spider-Man 3 Raimi than the focused one behind Evil Dead and A Simple Plan), but you can't fault Alison.
Like in Matchstick Men, she does a great job of using her charisma/beauty to make you fall in love with someone who is kind of unlovable. Sam Raimi said in an interview that he cast her because she could make the audience complicit in the sort of evil decisions that are forced upon her by increasingly desperate situations, starting with kicking an old woman out of her house in order to get a promotion.
Top that off with being game for the kind of physical abuse Raimi likes to throw at his leads and you have a really great piece of work by a young actress. She proved she can carry a movie and I hope she gets the chance to do it again soon. -

Absolutely Wonderful Performance !
She has somehow been overlooked by hollywood, possibly because americans dont like a pure and elegant beauty like her !
She deserves to be in the best of movies because of her beauty, charm and acting. Maybe the americans just cant associate with such a pristine gem of a girl. they just like to see empty girls that dont know anything over dropping their clothes. She should move to a culture where beauty is respected. -

I enjoyed Drag Me To Hell, but she was just awful. Speaks volumes for Raini that he could make a decent movie despite having what was essentially a turnip as his main character.
Actually, that's a touch unfair. Turnips can display more emotion than her. -

She is a horrible actress and if she was trying to fill the shoes of Bruce as a slight comic relief in a horror movie, she failed miserably. She should be banned from acting.

Are you stalking me? Because that would be super. -

Is it the role or the actress?
This sweet farmgirl from a homely background is THE Southern-Belle! Portraying the most innocent of society; from the soft-tone voice to her cute buck teeth, her fair skin, sunday school fashion-sense/style, all the way to her goodguy boyfriend. Crossing paths w/that psychic, she's not gullable, but very trusting (as if stealing hasn't been invented). i.e. Portrayal of the purest virgin of virgins. Either the role was made for Alison, or she does one hell of a job becoming Christine Brown. In fact, I can only see one factor in her life that doesn't fit. Being a loan officer, you have to have backbone. The ability to reject people from furthering themselves. Ideally, it would be a benefit to seek the sorrow of others, drinking their tears as you say NO w/o cause. To actually credit her as a skilled actress, she needs to take roles that gives range. If she pulls off a convincing Aileen Wournos (a la "Monster") I put money down on an Oscar.
