I think that she was a good actress. Her performance as Lolita was very good, seeing as it was her first film role I believe she did a fantastic job. She is also very sexy. Its a pity she didn't continue with acting.

I thought she was extremely good in LOLITA, and I agree it's a shame that she wasn't able to follow up on that role with anything comparable. In her defense, a lot of Hollywood types never got over those first few shots of her in LOLITA, and that was all they could see. I don't think they ever really saw her entire performance in that film, which was quite stunning under Kubrick's direction.

I suppose all those who consider her acting in "Lolita" good are projecting their reading of the situations onto her. I am sure her beauty facilitates that, up to a point.
I happen to think she was mostly terrible in "Lolita".
(Thankfully for her, it wasn't she alone who destroyed the film - no, it was Peter Sellers. Or, to be fair, Kubrick - for being I don't know blind? deaf? temporarily insane?)
But it was "The Night of the Iguana" (like another poster noted) which revealed all the scarcity of her acting talent. She grew more and more beautiful, no doubt about that. But in those days you really had to have at least some talent to make it in films.
Sounds as if I hated her, right?
(I've been around IMDB long enough to be familiar with the usual recriminb68ations.
Wrong. Of course I don't hate her.
It's just her acting what I really really dislike.
I hope she's doing fine, wherever she is. -

"Destroyed the film"? That film was terrific and funny as heck. I get a kick out of you dipsh&t critics. She was only 14, and her first film, when making Lolita and she did a superb job. People like you bluegreen, I guess have to justify your existence by overly slamming someone just to get attention. I guess you feel people will think you're important or something. What a joke.
I guess Bipolar and Hollywood trying to make her into something she's not, ala Francis Farmer, had nothing to do with her career. Take a look at Ben Stiller since Meet The Parents. One stupid, goofy movie after another playing Gaylord Focker over and over. She didn't want that. My take is that she's her own person and always was more16d0 than I can say for you. -

I just bought three Sue movies on DVD: Lolita, The Night of the Iguana and 7 Women, and decided to start by the latter, which apparently is the least "popular" of the bunch. I must say I loved her in it. Not only was/is she extremely gorgeous, but a great actress as well. Her performance really impressed me, and now I'm eager to see the other two.
