I am reading it now. There's nothing new in itbut a little tidbit is that it does provide some box office scored for many of Jayne's movies. It's kind of a 'Best Of' book in that it provides information from almost all of the other books written on her. Not bad. Great photos.

I found it curious he sourced very minor information yet did not state where he got his box office figures data from and a couple of other tidbits I had not heard before (can't remember them off hand). I love the cover and the layout though, one thing I didn't like is when he unfavorably compared Jayne to Mamie Van Doren in terms of how she handled things and lived her life. I don't think Mamie was all that more "aware" than Jayne , she's just lucky enough to survive into her 80s but that in itself but that does not make her smarter and more astute in making life choices.

There was a book in the 80s that listed box office tallies from classic and older films. Can't think of the name of it or anything now though. I did find it interesting that Kiss Them For Me made more money than Rock Hunter and KTFM is often called a bomb while RH is called a classic. As for Jayne vs Mamieshe's accessible because she's still alive. According to most sources, she wasn't nearly as famous as she'd have you believe. She lost her Universal contract in the mid 50s while MM was still going strong and Jayne was becoming a star7ec.
