Was Keil Martin of Hill Street Blues really Keil Muller (or Mueller) and did he live in the Miami area before he became an actor?

Hello: My name is Kenny, I was with Kiel and his Mom through all of his days while battling cancer and was by his side up to his last day, Dec. 28 1990. He was infact born Kiel Mueller and grew up in Miami. He told me lots of interresting and funny stories in his final days and he was truly an amazing person. He saved my life and he lives in my heart always

I am assuming he was NOT, in fact, related to 5b4Larry Hagman or the actress Mary Martin as someone posted on his bio page here, then

I just love Kielwish I would've known him as you have. It was touching reading your words. So sad that he passed young and from lung cancerand after he recovered from alcohol.
