I've enjoyed Sandy Martin for years. She is especially good in the "Cold Case" episode 'The Good-Bye Room.' She deserves an Emmy nomination for her performance. Sandy is one of the best character actresses of today!

I agree, I liked her in Vendetta, her portrayal of Kay was great. I didn't see her in anything else, at least not that I recognized her in. Then one day I was watching Days of Our Lives and there she was. I asked my 18 year-old son, "hey, who's that?" He said "Kay, that's Kay." I would like to see more of her other roles.

Years back, I met her a few times in a "non-acting" context and she really is a superb actor because in person, she's lively, personable, funny, smart. All these chewy characters she plays from the very vocal to "chunks of coal" (diamonds in the .. . you get it) are deftly crafted. Kudos and I love seeing her in anything.

I'll never forget her for a brief cameo she did in an episode of "Designing Women", playing the manager of a motel where Suzanne and Anthony got stranded during a snowstorm. She really showed her range, doing a superb comedy part.

Easily, EASILY, one of the most versatile and gifted natural character actresses in the business. In a good movie or TV show she holds up her end with gusto and in a bad one she saves it from being a waste. On BIG LOVE when she was supposed to be just a freak show she embued the almost B-Horror Movie character with humanity. I've seen her play shrews and loving mothers and lesbians and southern matriarchs and she became each one- she's as much a biographer as she is an actress in the way she tells the story of her characters. I don't know anything about her as a person, but if she isn't a drama professor she should be because she definitely has some lessons to impart.

Hey,
Just stumbled upon this comment of yours. Thanks so much for the kind words.
Funny you should mention it but I have been directing at the American Academy Of Dramatic
Arts on and off for 30 years now.
If you are in LA, come to see the TENNESSEE WILLIAMS play A HOUSE NOT MEANT TO STAND opening
later this month at the Fountain Theatre. I play his crazy mother. Very complicated role - but super challenging.
All The Best,
Sandy Martin

Hey Ms. Martin,
I'm a huge fan of your work. I was at the LA New Filmmakers Series last May and LOVED your performance in ANNIE IN THE AISLE OF IRMA. I host a radio program broadcast in the NY/NJ area and would love to record a phone interview with you. Who should I contact to make this happen?
