Gulf of America

Are there really many liberals who are super upset about it? I think most people just thinks it's really stupid and have laughed at it for how dumb it is. It's not like it's even real. It's still going to be called the Gulf of Mexico by the rest of the world and most Americans.

Thanks!
I think that this is my fave, from one of the I assume many sycophants:

I do think these bizarre and outrageous proposals serve a purpose. Now, because of this absurd proposal, we know who Buddy Carter is.
As for Trump? The man is eccentric and a troll. He uses these tactics to seize control of media attention or, I think, to build up a negotiation piece.
But it’s not a presidential look. It’s not a friendly look for America to threaten to establish a new massive ME presence in Gaza. Again, I think it’s strategic for negotiation, but very ridiculous if taken literally. Like it’s a ****ing awful idea.

I don't doubt that he's THAT guy, the guy at the country club or golf club who just talks **** all the time. The issue for his foreign interlocutors is when he is asked if he is serious about some bizarro or aggressive plan he says that he is…. And then he acts like he is. So, to a degree they have to deal with whatever ridiculous thing it is, like this Gulf of America garbage.
Whatever….you guys elected him, but we all have to deal with it. Fine. Things will settle down. -

I don’t think he is “that” guy though.
View words like pieces on a chess board. You say something you make a move and it provokes a response. That is what he’s doing.
I do not regret electing him. But I do see how it’d be upsetting for those who’re on the receiving end of his unique statements. I’m just saying moving into Gaza is not “America first”

I don't think that he's as clever as you paint him, though I think that he's cunning. And I might worry that he's more easily manipulated than you indicate. But happy to agree to disagree on those points, we'll all see.

He’s a marketing genius though.
If he’s not smart, why did bush, Clinton, Kamala spend like 30x what he did only to lose?
Your error is you expect intelligence to manifest in certain stereotype, like an Obama or a Clinton. You don’t see how this guy’s tactics are brilliant. He’s a brilliant marketer and it’s why he completely trounces everyone in the field of politics. It’s like child’s play.

I think that he knows how to appeal to a lowest common denominator and also what's most base in the voting public.
I think that he is a brilliant campaigner, true. I don't think that he's a great governor, however, and I don't think that he's a moral person.
Hopefully he will prove me wrong. -

Nothing Trump does is planned. He's extremely impulsive. When he does something dumb it's not 3D chess, it's because he's dumb. The Gaza thing is dumb. The "Gulf of America" is dumb. Getting into a fight with Zelensky is dumb. Trump is only able to survive his many gaffes due to his charisma which has created a cult-like following among his supporters and so they are willing to forgive anything he does. If you have half the country brushing off you causing an insurrection then you're pretty much invincible. When it comes to actual strategy, however, he is awful. Putin is playing him hard.
