I had just seen 'Three Coins in the Fountain' and just by chance I too wondered what had happened to Maggie McNamara. I remembered her vaguely in a couple of films a long time ago.
I also read that she had just finished a screenplay and it had been accepted by a new movie company, She was working and then gone!
It does seem strange that she had been given an unmarked grave. What about her ex-husband or her family?
Whatever happened during those last hours we shall never know, but I too hopes she is now at peace. -

I thought I had read about her coming from a fairly large familynow I could be wrong on this, as this was many many years agobut I too have often wondered why someone hasn't done something for this wonderful actress

After many years of reading about "The Moon is Blue" (getting condemned by the Catholic League for its usage of "The V Word," Virgin), I finally got a chance to see it, last week, thanks to Turner Classic Movies. I LOVED IT!!! Witty, comedic banter and a fine cast!!! Maggie McNamara? Even though I saw "3 Coins in the Fountain," many times, I drew a blank when I saw HER name in the credits. What a revelation! She reminded me of a young Audrey Hepburn (my favorite actress!!!). Now I learn that she died, so young!!! Sad? I'm heartbroken!!!
"You can't HANDLE the truth!" Jack Nicholson, "A Few Good Men."
