I saw a pic tonight of Jason and it looks nothing like him at all. Has he capped his teeth or something? He looks unrecognizeable and I was convinced the pic was not of him but it appears to be. Jason why??

I used to listed to SModcast all the time, and I recall an episode where they were talking about Mewes and his teeth.
Mewes was doing drugs for quite a long time, and I think maybe as a result of that he ended up getting fake teeth. So now I think most (if not all) of his teeth are fake.
Of course now he has been clean for quite a long time too, which is awesome.I'm sorry, the number you've dialed is imaginary. Rotate your phone 90 degrees and try again.

We will never know the truth.but so far they say (hollywwod press)(tmz)(whoever they may be)he is no longer on that crap.great for him..had all his teeth pulled(fell out)(rotted out)whatever may be due to drug..I got most of his filmsexcept for the last 6 on imdb list.cant find them?he his a great actor.keep up the great work MewesI think he's doing great for himself.Getting plenty of roles.does great work.must be all truehe has quit the drug habbit..Love to see another Jay and silent Bob film.Noobz.

He has dentures. Kevin paid to have his teeth pulled and got him dentures when he went through rehab one of his first times. Kevin talks about it in one of his books I don't remember which one at the moment.

And yes, people DO that all the time, lady. I've met several. Don't be so sure of yourself, when talking about things you clearly don't know much about. -

I just logged on here to ask the exact same question. I haven't seen him in anything for years. Currently watching 'noobz' on netflix and when he came on the screen it took me ages to realise it was him. It only clicked when he said some words a certain way. Strange how having his teeth done has completely reshaped his face.

Like everyone on this board mention, if you listen to his podcast he does with Kevin Smith, he talked why his teeth so messed up. Being the son of a ex-con heroin addict mother, being neglected on having good hygiene including not brushing his teeth; not to mention his love for sugar. Eventually one of his relatives took him to the dentist and found numerous amounts of cavities. Later in life when he got into drugs, makes matters worse for his teeth, hence his teeth falling out. I can't help but noticed the difference in his upper teeth- when he got it done the first time when Kevin paid for it back in 2000-2001, they were normal and the upper teeth at a good length/fit his face portion. Now when he got it redone later on, they are too short- so when he smiles, it look like he didn't have any teeth in the upper area at all. I'm glad that he's clean and sober now though.

If you don't get implamts, the bone will shrink. So it makes his face look caved in. And the fake teeth are too small, so it looks like he is missing his front teeth, even though he isn't.
