Every time I see this woman in the media I'm extremely turned off. She has an intensely negative vibe about her.
It starts with the main photo of her on IMDB (of her smoking a cigarette.) Now some of you may not have a hugely negative emotional reaction when you see someone smoking, but I do. And then she does this sit-down interview - and she smokes like a CHIMNEY during the whole interview.
And now she's in the news about slagging her hometown, and in most videos she's got this constant scowl that portrays her as an incredibly unhappy person who just seethes negative energy. -

I see nothing wrong with smoking, but I also couldn't help but notice that she spent an interview that I recently watched, smoking a cigarette.
As for her attitude, I've noticed a lot of people saying that she's a bitter woman. I'm not really sure what to think.

Maybe you're the one who "seethes negative energy" when you get in such a lather about a very old photo of someone smoking. Not to attack you personally, but I don't understand the hostility that female artists in particular get.

I don't like smoking any more than you do - in fact, I gave it up nearly thirty-five years ago, and have no wish to start again - but Joni has never upset anybody in her life.
Go and attack somebody talentless like Joe Strummer or Sid Vicious, who built an entire career out of hatred, instead.

Sensitive peace and love flower child dropped her kid not once but twice before heading for the bright lights. She decided to get in touch 30 years later and all is forgiven by daughter and a grandchild I'm sure she can't dote enuf on.

Er, do you know something I don't, because I'm pretty sure Joe Strummer was a great human being who promoted nothing but peace and love. And he was very talented to boot.

I agree that she has an intensely negative vibe about her. No, she s a very bitter woman. I've been a fan for years now, but God she is so bitter and also full of herself. She really sees herself as the best female singer-songwriter ever. She probably is, but she can be nasty about others.
For one thing, she's always slammed Madonna for being provocative and sexy, yet she loves Janet Jackson and gave her even permission to sample Big Yellow Taxi. Uhm Janet isn't/wasn't provocative and sexy? She made more sexb68 themed albums than Madonna did.
Joni is extremely bitter and jealous. Also, why does she always trash her earlierst records and acts as if hey were so bad? I would choose her first albums over her later work (1978-present) anytime.
