What went on between Joni and JT that would prompt her to devote two LPs to him? Also, doesn't he play guitar on Blue? It must have been pretty intense, but I can't seem to find out much about it. Just curiosity here and would like to know.

I've never heard about a romance with James Taylor. I know she went out with Graham Nash for a few years.
Maybe they were friends.

They were involved, but grew apart.
The songs Blue and For The Roses are about James, plus a few others on the records by the same names.
