Gareth, our American Accent is probably better than your Australian reading skills.did you not read what he wrote? HE SAID IT DIDN'T BOTHER HIM AND HE WAS POLITE ENOUGH TO NOT EVEN MENTION IT TO HER! NOT TO MENTION HE SAID HE THOUGHT SHE WAS HAVING A BAD DAY MAYBE, HE WAS BEING VERY NICE ABOUT IT!!! Geezzz wtf? Vin was the one who correctb68ed this no name bitch, not Aaron! Besides, Aaron is a boy name and Erin is a GIRL name and if she can't tell the difference oh well then she's an idiot in my book much like you and your insult to Americans. Her snarky response was uncalled for, the fans (if indeed she has any besides the two or three here) are the ones who pay (or rather paid since she doesn't have a decent job) her salary and she should THANK them not get smart mouthed, but I see rudeness must run in your country. She should take a tip from Johnny Depp, the fans pay your salary, treat them with respect!

          HANG ON!!!!
Her misspelling my name is NOT why I thought she was a bitch. Let's try this again
My friend Philip was behind me in line. We each had an 8x10 photograph of every actor present, and a mini poster of Pitch Black. She signed BOTH my poster AND my 8x10, then she snapped at my buddy and told him she would only sign one. I just thought it was sort of an inappropriate response, and she could have handled it more politely. I don't give a sh!t if she spelled my name wrong, I'm USED to that.
Also, to whoever asked, I didn't stop her from writing "Erin" because it literally takes 3 seconds to scribble. When looking at someone signing something while it's upside down in your POV, it's hard to catch anything until the final product is available.
Again, I only say she was a bitch because she told Philip he had to CHOOSE one of his two items to be signed, and snapped at him about it. Regardless of whether or not she made a mistake by signing both of mine(while every other actor signed both, as well), she SHOULD have said: "Sorry, I didn't realize I had signed both of his items, it's only supossed to be 1."
You guys are flaming over nothing.

theshape (Aaron!), ignore the trolls, I got what you meant, she was acting like a bitch plain and simple. She needs to take lessons from Johnny Depp (a real actor!) and treat her fans with respect.
I stumbled upon this chick's profile when I was looking at Ally Sheedy's pictures, I have no idea who the heck she is, so she should be grateful to have fans at all who would show up to get anything signed by her (most likely they were there for Vin anway, lol). Her signature probably brought down the real estate of your poster anyway, but it was awfully nice of Vin to call her a bitch on your behalf, lol.
Have a good one and thanks for the story!!!

Why did you pay for the autograph? Is that normal?
I have never heard of such a thing before, that's why I ask.

If an actor shows up at a convention or a "signing" and isn't being paid by a studio to promote something, they'll usually charge a $5 or $10 fee to autograph a photo they have on hand, or something you brought to have signed. It's fairly common. Example, I did not pay for Vin Diesel or Radha Mitchell's autographs, as they were promoting "Pitch Black". I DID have to pay for Kane Hodder's(Jason Voorhees in a handful of Friday the 13th movies) autograph at the same convention, as he was there by his own free will, not promoting anything, and just trying to make some extra cash.
Now, meeting an actor or celebrity in public shouldn't warrant a charge at all. I met James Marsden at a comic book shop in Nashville when he was in town on a break filming the 1st X-Men. His girlfriend(at the time anyway) lived a couple of towns away, and he was shopping for "a holy grail kind of X-Men comic". I snagged up the first comic I could find that had Cyclops on the front(being a movie nerd, I knew who he was, and was playing in said movie). I brought it over to him and politely whispered, asking if he would sign it for me if I were to purchase it. He told me to buy it and wait outside, and then we talked out there for about 20 minutes or so. Very nice, stand-up guy. Probably the best meeting I've ever had with an "actor".
James Gandolfini came into the theatre I used to work for while he was filming "Last Castle" at the old prison in Nashville. He seemed a little agitated that people were asking him for autographs, but he signed them, free of charge, all the same.
"You think just 'cause a guy reads comics he can't start some sh!t ?!?"

The real question is why did you feel the need to stand in line and get an autograph? You ought to be out having a noteworthy life of your own instead of standing in line for scraps from those who do. Why be a sheep and follow? Do something noteworthy yourself, even if it's just doing something meaningful for others or those less fortunate. This celebrity nonsense and getting a token of the moment is boring and ultimately meaningless. It's like the lowest pursuit one could aspire to really if you think about it.

rob949, you are a funny guy. So I should be helping sick and hungry people, all of the time, instead of doing something I like and visiting a city I've never been to, once, 8 years ago?
I wish you had been around in January of 2000 to tell me that it was inapproprite for me to go to a horror movie convention in New York. I'm so ashamed of myself. Why WOULD I have stood in line to get autographs, doing something I'm into, spending my money to enjoy myself for two days when I was only 19? I should probably try and get the names of the other 1000 people that attended, so I can make sure they understand that indulging in a hobby every once in a while is a terrible sin. Of course, maybe they're all working for habitat for humanity by now, and I'm the last, self absorbed, evil douche bag on the planet.
I really SHOULD be spending my days trashing what other people do with their personal time on the IMDB message boards, because THAT, at the heart of it all, is helping people. Furthermore, I'd better quit my managment job, because I don't really help people, I just tell them what to do for a living, and that's no good.
Because of you, rob949, next time I see a celebrity, I'm going to punch them right in the dick for wasting two days of my life. Thank you for turning me in the right direction. A better direction.

The convention where I met Radha Mitchell was one of the bi-annual Fangoria Horror Movie Conventions. They advertise in their magazines all the time for them. I know Wizard advertises for similar conventions, too. The trick is whether or not you live in a city where one is going on, or if you're willing to travel to one(like I had to).
