Val could also sing like Jim. It was spot-on. He auditioned with his vocals even though they didn't use them. He was perfect in The Doors movie. I loved it despite the inaccuracies.

He told Stone that he could sing and sound just like Jim Morrison. To prove it, he submitted a selection of music and he asked Stone if he could tell the difference between Jim's singing and his singing. Turns out, they were all actually Val singing and Stone thought it was all Jim.
The surviving members of The Doors claim that Val Kilmer did such a good job playing and singing as Jim Morrison that they could not distinguish his voice from the real Jim Morrison.
Val Kilmer had the same kind of singing voice as Morrison and, to convince Stone that he was right for the role, spent several thousand dollars of his own money and made his own eight-minute audition video, singing and looking like Morrison at various stages of his life.
The film contains over two dozen of the Doors' songs, although only half of these appear on the accompanying soundtrack album. In the film, original recordings of the band are combined with vocal performances by Kilmer himself, although none of Kilmer's performances appear on the soundtrack album.
A friend of mine, Julie Strain, made a brief appearance in that movie. I realize
The Doors
isn't totally accurate, but I really fell in love with the entire production!

Julie was a model and actress, so she was accustomed to being in the public eye. This was just a wee little role that she was happy and lucky to be a part of.
I always thought Val was such an incredibly handsome man. It's sad that he was hit with such terrible health problems. I admire his strength and courage moving forward.

He's dead, Jim.
Do you think there's any truth to him faking his death?
Or do you believe he was murdered?
His dad was a Navy rear admiral and veteran of three wars, including Vietnam.
He didn't approve of his son becoming a singer.
Lots of conspiracy theories surrounding but none about him being a transgender.
