Anyone else annoyed by those teenage Jim fans?

I'm 15 myself, but I hate how the kids at my school worship Jim like some stupid rocker rebel. They wear T-shirts displaying an image of Jim that Jim himself wanted to get rid off. If those kids knew any better, they would know that Jim despised the coming of Heavy Metal and Punk Rock. He wasn't like some stupid rocker who took acid. Jim was a poet. Jim was a genius. At his teens, Jim studied Nietzsch's and other philosophers works. Jim had very acute ideas of the world and was very educated. Jim was NOT, I repeat NOT some stupid punk who thought he was like a God. Jim wasn't cool because he took acid and drank a lot. It was because he had charisma and an impressive intellect. I bet most of those punks wouldn't even understand Jims lyrics. So is anyone else annoyed by those punks?

I can truthfully say that I really am annoyed by those kind of people. The kind that they see him on a t-shirt and think he some kind of huge god who has to be worshiped to be cool. I myself am 14 years old but I'm an avid lover and huge fan of Jim and the Doors. I never liked him because other people did or because he was EXTREMELY attractive, (which he was. no doubt) but I listened to his poetry and I observed the way the audience sort of fell in love with him because he was so charismatic. I always tried to scrutinize every word he's written in his poetry, and even though I'm 14 I still probably couldn't understand the complex and brilliant mind of Jim Morrison when I'm older. He was a beautiful, senstive, brilliant poet with extreme intellect and shouldn't be taken advantage of by these little posers. But bottom line, I'm very intolerant of those kind of punks. =]

Jim Morrison is my idol, not because he was exteremly hot, he was though, and not because he took acid and was pronounced to be a "rock god". Jim is my idol because of the way he thought and precieved the world. He used his poetry to reveal his most inner thoughts. He was highly intellectual and very carismatic. I'm 16, and i carry a Jim Morrison bag or purse, because I like it, I don't care if you don't. Morrison was a genius and should be greatly appreciated for his works. My dad and mom were avid fans of the Doors which introduced me too him at a young age. I fell in love with his lyrics, and from there, began reading his poetry. Again I do believe there are those girls that were his face on their shrits and probably don't even know his name. I remember once I told this girl I liked her Morrison shirt, then asked if she knew what band he was in she replied with " The Beatles, I think," I smiled and walked away. Those type of people make me angry and have no buisness wearing his shirts.

I'm 17 and have rocked to classic rock for years, and I totally am into the 60's for what those people were about and I know what artists meant and I hate what music has become today. But I hate all the stoner types who wear jim morrison shirts they got from hot topic, and they act like they really get jim but they like him for all the wrong reasons.

Well I'm 17 and I would consider myself a big Jim fan. I am fully aware, and always have been, that Jim Morrison was not really involved with the punk movement. In fact, he died in 1971, several years befoer the punk revolution even began. I personally feel like teenagers today don't know Jim enough. What I mean by that is if you were to poll any random high school class, I question how many of the kids actually would recognize the name Jim Morrison, and if they could, then indenify the band he was in. Thats whatr really bothers me.

I am annoyed by those people - there are bunches of them at my school. And all the girls who wear the Jim Morrison tees and "like" him think he was some sort of womanizer - and just that. (I am a girl too, but I respect him in the way you do: as a poet, intellect and artist)
But I also am a Heavy Metal/Punk Rock fan

I liked the later Morrison when he was playing the blues and had the beard. Most Teens just like the picture Jim had taken back in 67 with Alexander the great hair cut. They called it the young Lion but to Jim it was an image he could never live2000 up to.
