I dont care if he is gay or not but in some of his quotes and lyrics it is vaguely present. He was once stated saying "I'm Rimbaud in a leather jackt". Rimbaud was a homosexual of whom he admired. Also, in the soft parade lyrics it says "love your neighbor 'till his wife gets home."

when i first heard the lyrics 'love your neighbor till his wife gets home' the first thing i thought was, its like he's talking to a woman saying mess around with other men till their wives come home.. the way it sounds, to me, it seems like he talking to someone and not talking about himself.. a lot of songs were like that its like he was having a conversation with the listener! one of my favorite aspects of doors songs! their my fav band.. of all time!!!!!

Remember Jim was obsessed with the ancient romans, and the romans belived in excess and bi-sexuallity.. I would think if he was involved in something like that it would have been to that notion. I think though b5b4ecause he liked to write lyrics that either made you think or made you shocked he couldve been eludeing to the roman idea As in the end he says ''father i want to kill you, mother i want to f you'' which he can be quoted as saying it was about killing the heavenly father and fing the earthly mother. we cant take doors lyrics litterally that takes the fun out of putting thought into them

Considering how extremely open Jim Morrison was about everything, I'm 100% certain we would know if he was gay, simply because he'd either talk about it, write lyrics about or somehow put some focus on it. He wrote about what interested him, whether it was drugs, spirituality or sexuality, and considering what a big part of someone's life being gay is, he would definitely written about it had he been gay.
Either way, he had a steady female partner for a long time, and was known to fool around a lot with various other female fans and celebs when he had the chance. Him being gay is extremely unlikely. -

Err, David Bowie was an open bisexual and was linked to both Mick Jagger (his wife claims she walked in on them in bed) and Lou Reed (who is also openly bisexual). It wasn't just an act.
Back then lines were blurred. People didn't think of it the same way as today. I think it would be naive to assume Morrison
didn't
experiment with homosexuality. Based on when he came about, what he represented, the things he did and said, as well as stories that came about from his days at film school - I think he probably experimented in quite a few ways.

Jim was straight.not that it really matters, cause it's not important at all, but I haven't found any evidence of him being homosexual. He was definetely into girls.
I have read every book in publication (outside of foreign) on Jim Morrison's life, and none have suggested or even questioned his sexuality.
Jim Morrison is a great poet/musician, and it even if the books are wrong, who cares.time for people to get over the whole sex thing.

Yep. Freud also believed in the greek myth of Oedipus and came up with the idea that boys have a sexual attachment to their mothersand a jealousy of their fathers because of the relationship they share. -

In regards to the Soft Parade, I always thought he was making reference to the Christian tradition of "love thy neighbor," and the commandment of not coveting your neighbors wife. He can "love" his neighbor in the brotherly sense until his neighbor's wife gets home, and he can't help but covet her. Perhaps I'm mistaken.

When he was in New York hanging out with the Factory crowd in the late sixties, according to cross-dressing Warhol-'Superstar' Holly Woodlawn, Morrison visited a gay den-of-iniquity called 'The Mine Shaft'. On the other hand, when he was in Amsterdam in '68, the ladies of the red light district apparently did some very good businessso perhaps he was bisexual/bib68curious, or maybe he was just interested in the gay-subculture because, back then, gays were the ultimate outcasts of society and he therefore sympathized with them (and the fact that his big hero Rimbaud was gay).
