i find it weird that all the writers of all the movies that are out there, they continue to kill his charachter off or torture his role
T2 (terminator 2) he played Miles Dyson, he was killed by the swat team police
Exeutive Decision: he was shot on a commerical jet plane by a terriost but still lived
Star Trek The Motion Picture: he was on a space station where the stationed was destroyed
if anyone can think of any other films, do mention them -

His character was shot repeatedly by SWAT. He held on to the explosives triggering mechanism for as long as he could until
literally
the moment of his death. So he died, not from the explosion, but from the wounds he sustained at the hands of SWAT officers. -

surely he would become too weak to hold the detonator in the seconds before he died? Fair play to the man if he managed to hold a 4lb detonator until the second life left his body I say he killed himself
and he didnt die in Law and Order SVU, but he was on the verge of killing himself, and ended up going to jail for murder =] -

I've noticed that, too. The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is The Astronaut's Wife. I don't think they show how Johnny Depp kills him, though.
On top of that, he's usually cast as the scientist that no one will listen to. -

One of my favorites was Walking Dead where the usually comedic Eddie Griffith must've realized that Morton had to be killed or abused as usual so he spent three quarters or more of the film verbally riding him like the man stole something from him. Allan Payne's compassionate leader tried to seperate the two, but Morton's character's ego and psyche'was taking a severe beating. Yup, add another in the column of tortured Morton characters.

He was also very ill in an episode of
House
. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a lot of his wor5b4k - yet - but just based on that episode, I'd say he gets tortured characters because he's an incredibly talented actor and quite capable of pulling them off.
Once you read this fifty times thinking it's actual content, you'll hate signatures too. -

*In Executive Decision, he damages his neck boarding the aircraft. He got nowhere near the terrorists. *
You're right I havent seen that movie in years and I still remember that he was on his back instructing Oliver Platt on dismantiling the bomb.
