Mine is "Rouge". She was good at drama, a pity she didn't get more dramatic parts. She was luminous as the heartsick ghost in "Rouge"think it was some of her best work.

The first time I saw her was as the Step Mother in Drunken Master II - she had such incredible comic skill, I fell in love with her.

I liked her in SAVIOUR OF THE SOUL and MOON WARRIORS. She and Andy Lau made a great couple onscreen.

I loved Anita in "The Enforcer" with Jet Li. God she was great in that movie. On the Mainland, that movie is called,
          Gei ba ba de xin
. Anita truly was a great performer who, like her sister Ann, achieved so much in such a short life, and against such incredible odds. A tragic end to such a young and promising life. Her older sister Ann's life was also cut short in April of 2000 after she succumbed to the same disease. The Mui sisters were incredibly beautiful persons inside and out who will be missed sorely by legions of fan all over the world. God bless them both.
"Instant shining is not eternity. Show business is a hard life. I wonder how many people will remember me after I leave the business forb68 good. My hope is that when they feel bored and look at the stars in the sky, people will think of my name."

I too thought she was excellent in Drunken Master II, she stole the scenes in that film, as Mr Chan will be the first to admit with fantastic comedy acting. The scene when she tells Wong Kei Ying she's pregnant was genius. But I'd have to say my favourite of her films is The Canton Godfather, perhaps because we got to see her perform some lively songs as well as deliver another great comedy performance.
            Anita, you will be missed.

My favorite Anita Mui role is definitely the character of Tung in "The Heroic Trio". The story itself was well conceived, but I think few female films stars in Hong Kong (then and now) could have pulled off such a great performance. Her character was the only one IMHO that was not 1 dimensional. She had to act vulnerable and beautiful as the police lieutenants wife, and the next scene she's this ultra-cool super heroine. Some people complain about her looks but see her in this movie, she's gorgeous in most scenes. Also see her in the follow-up sequel "The Executioners". Her character gains an additional dimension as that of a prisoner. See Tung overcome her own demons and carve her trademark mask out of a tin plate.
Anita's tapes were always close by during my college days to help me get through those tough all-nighters. Her beautiful voice and sweet face will be missed forever.

I thot Anita was wonderfully funny in both Drunken Master and Rumble in the Bronx - but she was too young to be playing the roles of older women - that's why my favorite of her roles is in Heroic Trio (and to a lesser degree Executioners, filmed the same year) - she is so compassionate and inspiring in the role, but she also at her most beautiful and luminous in those shots - she seems genuinely in love and glows - I think she must have put on a little weight to "bulk up" for this action role - she seems so much thinner in the other two roles - and it makes her seem fuller, more womanly, more beautiful on the screen - I love Michelle Yeoh, but I was totally taken with Anita in Heroic Trio - so sad to finally find out she's gone.

Though I adored her in The Heroic Trio and Executioners, I appreciated her role most in what is titled in the States as Miracles. I forget original title, but her role in that movie was wonderful, being a dancing showbiz star and a dance/song number in the movie, no less. If it wasn't for Anita's character, Jackie wouldn't have helped Lady Rose and we wouldn't have a full story Rest in peace.

She the best in action movies (no one else has the charisma to match):

                    1. Heroic Trio
                    2. Executioners
                    3. Savior of the Soul

First off, I had no idea she'd passed away until the viewing of her resume on this site.
In terms of favorite performance I'd have to say I'm ill-equipped.
Being I've only seen one film of hersThe Heroic Trio.

I think she was a lot more talented as a singer than an actress, although she was surely great in anything.

She was great in 'Drunken Master 2' as Wong Fei Hung's impish stepmother. 'Rumble in the Bronx' was a flawed movie, but I cared about her character. Her role as Ah Tung/Wonder Woman/Neui Fei Hap/Shadow Fox in 'The Heroic Trio' was great, too.
The late Anita Mui had some nice lipskind of like the late Priscilla Lane's lips.

While I haven't seen much else, I'd have to say she was amazing in Drunken Master 2 (or The Legend of Drunken Master.)
I loved it when she hid evidence of the mah-jongg game and pretended that she was treating the other women for "gynecological troubles", telling her husband she was pregnant to save Wong-Fei Hung from getting in trouble, the pretend crying and saying "he hit my belly!" after fighting the Fu Manchu officer, and just about every scene she was in during this film
