I don't know why the bio says that, but growing up in Hong Kong, I never heard anyone call her by that title. It is true that she was never known to be a beauty in the classic sense, and got negative comments for her looks at the beginning of her career, but I have never heard anyone calling her "Ugly Queen" of anything.
