I too only just found out when I noticed the dedication to her at the end of House of Flying Daggers - I was stunned - first that she died so young - and secondly that she's been gone a year (!) and I didn't know - I have been a Jackie Chan fan since Rumble in the Bronx came to America (and of course, Anita was delightfully funny in it - but I didn't really know who she was then) - I must confess that I became a huge Michelle Yeoh fan (way before her 007 role) - but I really started paying attention to Anita when I found Heroic Trio - and Maggie Cheung, too of course - but Anita was beautiful and inspiring in that film and then I began to notice/discover her in other films - this past year I have really started developing my collection in this area (Hero, Warriors of Heaven and Earth, the Emporer and the Assassin, et. al.) and stumbled across her in Moon Warriors (I already had Legend of Drunken Master and the Enforcer) - I'm just so deeply saddened that Ida0 won't have any future films to add to my collection and admiration of her.rest in peace

I was quite shocked to hear about this.
She was a really enjoyable actress like in Drunken master 2, Rumble in the Bronx and Mr canton and Lady Rose (just to name a few).
It just saddens me to hear about her death. -

Dammit why did no-one tell me? I was horrified and confused like some of you after seeing the dedication at the end of House of Flying Daggers. Unbelievable!
I think to me Anita will be remembered best for her role in Miracle with JC. Truly a wonderful actress -

tolos, i think it's interesting that the sequence of movies you listed/watched is the exact same as mine, if i remember correctly. i found about her thru rumble in the bronx, but i was a michelle yeoh fan first before 007, of course. when i found out michelle was in heroic trio along with maggie cheung and anita mui, i watched that then executioners. i think that's interesting, is all, that we shared the same sequence.
Rest in Peace, Ms. Mui. -

I just found out, today, that she died. I looked her name up after just having watched my DVD of "Legend of the Drunken Master" and was thinking of how good an actress she was, how funny and beautiful as well. I n5b4ever realized that she had been in a bunch of the other movies as well. (I'm one of those people who rarely stays through the credits, let's face it.)
All I can say is "wow" I'm at a loss for words other than that.
That, and there's another person out here who will miss her.
