I know what you mean. I like one or two actors' bands a lot of the time you give actors' bands a listen and it's pretty awful. For my taste of course.
Sometimes it's the converse and a musician makes a terrible actor. -

He used to, not sure if the band still exist. Sons of Mr Green Genes. Named after a Frank Zappa song. It's not what you'd expect from him, though.
