He did a great job portraying an immoral character.

I could tell when he was with Blonsky that he was wanting more Hulk type creatures, he is twisted in that he finds them God like. He will want to have the Hulks strength in the next movie(I pray there is one), which will work out great. I just hope they don't make it to where Bruce can control the Hulk, I have never liked that.

I think he stole the show with his 5 mins of screen time.

Is his character in the film based on one from the comics? Seems like he could become a kind of Brainiac.

            Wikipedia The Leader.
And I'd say his performance was interestingly effective. I was nearly annoyed by him, but I think it was more the character than anything else. He's a great actor in general.

Funny how you said you were nearly annoyed by him. I felt the same way about the Leader voiced by Matt Frewer on the 90's Hulk Cartoon. He captured the Twerp essence of the Leader Perfectly. He's going to be even more of a Twerp in the next Hulk movie when he has the conceited ego. Tim Blake Nelson was perfect he gave off the same vibe as Matt Frewer

I agree that he was great in this movie, I'd say he stole the show! I wouldn't call his character immoral, though. The impression that I got was that he was extremely intelligent, probably a genius, and he was bored with teaching and longing to be involved in something truly cutting edge. Add to that his folksiness and you get a very colorful character. I knew him best as Delmar in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou, where he played a good natured but extremely simple hick. He was also down to Earth here, but at the opposite end of the intelligence chart, obviously.
