It is a shame that she had to get into that Scientology crap! Man she was a great actress too! Lets just hope she does not do some crazy stunts like Tom Cruise did professing his love for Katie Holmes. That would not be cool to see at all but now if she did that for me I would not mind it though.
I don't know a whole lot about Scientology but I also don't get why people like you get on Tom Cruise for jumping up and down on a couch. [sarcasm]Oh yea, that's
    re1c84ally
    nutty.[/sarcasm]
So Tom Cruise got giddy and jumped on a couch. Big freaking deal.
If you want to talk junk about Scientology you need to come up with better crap than that, momo unless you are too intellectually bankrupt.
    You wouldn't dare!

Sorry if it does not seem as if I am knowledgeable in Scientology but I still feel that in ways Tom Cruise has gone over board with some of the things that he does out in public.
I am Roman Catholic and you do not see me run out in the streets acting like Tom Cruise does do you? Hell no I do not do that at all!

People say Scientology is crazy, and well, it is. But is it really that much different from other "religions" where the follower has rather illogical beliefs based solely on faith? Just thought I'd throw that out there.

The main difference is that they expect big money in order to reach the highest levels of spirituality and they have "celebrity centers" instead of churches or temples or what have you. They seem to literally worship Tom Cruise. I realize that other religions have been involved in scandals (involving money, corruption, perversion, etc.) but they typically take an apologetic stance after these things happen. Scientologists just start sueing people. Here's the thing. It is entirely POSSIBLE that all faith-based religions are just a bunch of made-up, hocus-pocus intended to keep people in line and under thumb, but it is completely, blantantly OBVIOUS that Scientology is.

Do you know where all the money goes? I think I heard that Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson) just gave $10 million. Yikes.

It reminds me a lot of Jim Jones and his "Jonestown" cult. Next thing you know old Tommy Boy is going to have them all drinking the red kool aid.

First off, I don't think spirituality and science are two extremes we must choose between. There is a middle ground and it seems like Scientology has its stake there.
Secondly, the celebrity, money-making aspect of Scientology is NO DIFFERENT than that of mainstream faiths like Christianity. There are an incalcuable number of preachers (Eddie Long, Joyce Meyer, Bobby Hinn, Paula White, Creflo Dollar, the list could go on!) who are millionaires and/or celebrities because regular people have, in search of truth, given them millions of dollars to be their leader. So, I definitely wouldn't single out Tom Cruise.
I think it's safe to say that religious leaders get their power "in numbers." No matter what you think of Tom Cruise or the founder of Scientology, ultimately the issue lies with those who give them the authority to believe they know everything.
In heaven, all of the interesting people are missing. Nietzsche

Once they have you there is no way out either. I suggest you read xenu.net if you're interested in some reading material.
