The producers and directors were looking for an actress who was 7-10 years older than Renee (she's 37, and looks 27!!) but because of her incredible depth and talent, she won the role.
I thought her performance was amazing. Even on Xena, her screams were never a shrill, girlish scream they were the kind of screams you felt to the core of your soul. To me, her reaction to finding her character's husband dead, after having lost a child recently before that, was perfect. It conveyed the same emotions as one of her screams without her having to scream. It was gutwrenching and heartbreaking. The rest of the performance was haunting, to say the least. I just hope the role leads the way to more primetime TV and better roles in film. -

Haven't seen the episode yet (we're always behind here with great shows, in the Netherlands)
But according to the network they will continue with the show somewhere in September 2008
