I just noticed that Jack OHalloran is one of the developers of a proposed new movie studio in Long Beach, CA. All I can say is - what a wonderful idea! And I only wish there was something I could do to show my support for the project. I really appreciate that someone is finally going out and actually trying to do something about the problem or runaway production in California, and Im thrilled (and frankly, a little surprised) that of all the people to pick up the gauntlet it is none other than Jack OHalloran to do so.
Farewell My Lovely is perhaps my favorite movie of all time and Jack OHalloran is right at the center of its greatness. Im pretty impressed that one of my movie heroes is out there fighting the good fight in the real world as well. Way to go!
So Jack, after you finish saving Hollywood, do you think you could help us get a proper DVD release for Farewell My Lovely next? -

What a great way to utlize the Boeing property and how smart to place a movie studio next door to the airport. I'm excited that this may keep jobs here and I can't wait for them to break ground on the project.

I am sitting here with tears in my eyes. Mr. O'Halloran, you DON'T know how long i've waited to here this. I was overly joyed when they built the Downey Studio, but to have a studio that perhaps I will be able to work one day is a dream come true. Prayerfully SAG and AFTRA and the Powers-that-be can do some house cleaning so those less fortunate actors can start working. Bless you Mr. O'Halloran and all of those behind this wonderful project.

Thank you for your comments, what we are about to build is going to be outstanding. This Studio is going to be so cost-effective. Many films will get done for the proper budghet.

Both my daughter and I are so excited at this project! With the current economic woes, it would be a great boost to the Long Beach area. But we're also wondering how far along you are with escrow and/or the building process? We're both eagerly awaiting the job advertisements!

Jack,
Any update on the Long Beach Studios project?
When the time is right, I'd really like to talk to you about the technology requirements for the site. I'm an engineer in the telecommunications manfacturing space, and know a lot about the entertainment industry. I've done business with CAA, WME, ICI, ICM, MGM, E!, CBS, Paramount, and so on. Plus I know what the technology requirements
(phone/data/video conference/internet/dark fiber/data storage) of a facility like that are, and who can provide them.
In short, when you have a minute, I'd like to talk to you about what I can offer, and in what capacity.

Steve,
Believe it or not i HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE DVD done for a few years now. Elliot Kastner and I almost had it done then he passed away.
But we are going after it again in a few months. So please be a bit more patient and I will get it done.
Best
Jack
