You gotta love the flawed everyman, he was almost a live action Homer Simpson (With a much higher IQ, and a more athletic build.) I think nowadays, Ed is tired of his role. It was funny, it secured him a place in television history, but he is beyond that. He landed the lead role in a short lived Dragnet remake, and for what it's worth, he was great as Joe Friday. Unfortunately, even I couldn't help but hear Al Bundy's voice in the opening monologue "I'm Joe Friday, and I am a cop."

I like the line from the episode where his car is going for a 1,000,000 miles and he watches it through the night in the garage.
Al: Now to let a little fresh air in. (opens garage door and coughs a lot).or out.
That episode is hilarious. So is the one where him and his neighbor (can't remember his name) decide to fix up that '65 Mustang.

Good or bad he stuck by his family, kicked anyones ass who messed with his little girl, and worked a crappy ass job to support his family and all that he asked in return was a good crap some boobies on TV and time to reflect on his football glory days! -

A friend of mine was left by his girlfriend and one of the first things we said to eacht other was "Off to the Nude Bar!" (I have no idea how it's called in the English Original, we've only ever seen MWC in German)

Al Bundy is my hero too. He has inspired me to go to college, to not get married, to not have children, and to not sell women's shoes. He also taught me the value of weenie-tots.
