I didn't see this discussed, I apologize if I missed it, but is there context to this that I'm not aware of? Hopefully..

It was part of a series of jokes in which a longer statement would be broken up over two Tweets, without a (1/2) or the any other kind of signifier.
So "These idiots who deny that clumsy change is real, and a pressing threat are no different from misogynists who claim that women enjoy rape. Grow the beep up, all of you." became "These idiots who deny that clumsy change is real, and a pressing threat are no different from misogynists who claim that " and "women enjoy rape. Grow the beep up, all of you." -

Wow.. thank you. Totally out of context I realize after searching the quote you provided. But maybe he should stick to instagram or something where he has more than x characters or just be more aware that people are listening to him..

I have a feeling it was people like you who were the intended target of those type of statements. Reacting to inflammatory words such as 'rape' like a dog whistle, without exploring the background to the comment, but instead relying on other people to provide you with the context.

Aren't you the same pile of assh_les who spent years attacking George Carlin and Bill Hicks?
You hate standup comedians 5b4in general. I remember you, specifically because you're such an insufferable, humorless, arrogant little chav of a c_nt.
Read the whole page from that day, my dear moron-of-biblical-proportions. You're absolutely f_cking wrong, and quite stupid for assuming you knew what you were talking about.
For a guy who hates comics so much, you sure are a f_cking joke. -

The context you're missing:
- Fox News had been going after comics' tweets.
- Patton Oswalt decided to troll them by creating broken-up tweets to troll them by proving that context is important.
- So he posted a series of 2-part tweets The first tweet would provide the context, and the second would sound horrifying without the first.
- A bunch of idiots didn't get it, and were laughed at by the people who understood he was sh_tting on conservative media Because they read the first half of each total, twopart message.
If you can't wrap your head around this, guess which group of people you fall into?
