Yup, she was terrific. Wish she would have had more screen time, although to be fair, I think they actually tried to use her as much as possible, considering, she was removed from the main setting of Provence. Loved that she was in the last scene. I was afraid they'd forgotten her. Good thing they recognized what a gem Gemma (and Archie) were.
Hope to see her in more flicks. Beautiful, too -

Ok so she played his abrasive strong secretary, which may be unconventional.
There would have been no point to having her character, if it was a passive secretary.
I think she helped make the movie. I bought the dvd because it was hilarious. -

Well yes and no. Kalinda is by far more complex even only in the pilot that the underveloped sarcastic secretary in Good Year. But Scott DID have her cast in the Good Wife because he thinks she can play anything and has said so on many occasions and they had been having a hard time casting the part of Kalinda.
Panjabi has a history of working with the same people over and over. It's happened several times that I know of She had a micro-part in Code 46 by Michael Winterbottom and he cast her in a much much bigger part in A Mighty Heart. She played in Cross my Heart with Omid Djalili who got her recruited for the part of his wife in the upcoming The Infidel. She played with Ralph Fiennes in The Constant Gardener and just after that she got a big part in Chromophobia, a movie directed by Fiennes' wife. Of course she ended up with the fuzzy end of that lollipop when the studio decided they wanted someone who was more famous for the part and replaced her by Penelope Cruz (who botched the part royally) but they wrote a supporting part especially for her in the movie.
I guess her coworkers think she's talented and easygoing and why would you not want to work with someone like that?

I think sadly the reason why she is always working with the same people is that she is insanely talented but there are few casting calls for Indian actesses these days in Hollywood. The people she works with know how great an actress she is.
At least now there are much better prospects for her than there were at the time between filming and release of "A Good Year" . -

She's also been great in The Good Wife. Just got a chance to see it and so glad she had good run there, and that many got to see what an amazing actress she is. Wow, strange how Margulies hated her so much to the point they couldn't even film together.
