Much respect for Ray Park. I like to see it. So what he barely has any speaking lines. Everything i've seen him in, he's done a great job and i eagerly wait to see his portrayal of Snake Eyes. Its almost like a curse, in hollywood i guess. How many Successful white martial artists does anyone see in the movies. Instead they have to teach alot of actors, this is what this mans done his entire life and it shows cause he's great at it. Him not having any speaking lines in a movie has almost become cliche. He's not a bad looking guy, his voice isn't irritating to mei don't understand alot of the beep ranting against him. Maybe its jealousy. who knows. Either way, guys still gettin paid to do what he loves, must be doin something right.

He is awesome! & A very nice guy to boot! I met him in Denver Colorado in 1999, at the Star Wars Convention
(oddly enough, I'd never even seen any of the Star Wars movies until after/during the convention, I went for the trip to Denver & because of my then boyfriend's obsession with the films)
& had my picture taken with him, he was so down to earth & very courteous, not cocky at all. If I were him, or had half of his talent, character, looks, etcetera, I would be so full of myself, lol. I'm glad to see all the support here!

George Lucas, as much as I respect him, was dumb to kill off Maul in Episode I; instead, we had to had to watch the lame Count Dooku as his replacement in Episode II.
Anyway, I wish Ray the best with his future project and can't understand the nerd rage either; some nerds have even gone so far as to call him fat, but he's not an 18-year old boy anymore either. Men generally gain some weight as they get older. -

I only really read a few of these posts. The first two posts are all you have to read reallyso why am I adding one? I guess I never knew there was any hate for Ray. I find that kind of suprising really. Yeah I am adding a post in support of Ray Park. Lets all add one and shift the unwarented hate back to reality.
Incase people were not paying attention to the Star Wars prequals, can't blame you. Darth Maul was by far the best villian in that intire series. Thank You Ray. The first X Men movie was my favorite of the series and I liked Toad in that. Thank You Ray.
He hasen't done all that much todate but I liked what little I have seen. I will most likely watch G.I.Joe and I think Ray is good cast as Snake eyes. G.I.Joe was my favorite toys as a little dude.
I herd rumors that there was going to be an Iron Fist movie staring Ray as the lead. I think that would be a good fit for Ray in a lead role. Why not put Ray Park in a lead role? Providing that he fits that part I think it could work pretty well. -

This is kind of scary, since I feel that I'm the only guy who's posting about how good an actor he is.
Got to meet him at the ECC in Seattle, definitely a badass, without the cockiness.
Personally, I think the nerd rage is a combo of he's better than the ragers, since he doesn't live in mom and pop's basement, isn't a fatass typing on a computer, and actually has a life. He's an american who studies Wushu. Not every actor who performs wushu has to be asian. And I'd love to see him get a main role in a movie. He'd make a great actor for any action or comic based movie. -

I agree, he's a really cool guy. I loved him in Star Wars Episode I, Sleepy Hollow and X-Men. The fact he was cast as Snake Eyes made me very happy. I think that he's one of the factors that will save that movie. It was a match made in heaven when he was cast in G.I. Joe.
Now if only Hollywood would let him play the title role in that Iron Fist movie that's been in development hell. -

I've heard the reason why they never went along with Iron Fist was because there were just too many darn superhero movies to compete with (especially Spiderman, which turned out to be a smashing success); there was also the very good Batman reboot, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, you name it.

This post is brilliant! I first found out who Ray Park was after I saw PM. I loved his character and even had a Star Wars crush on Darth Maul and he didnt even really talk. I loved the character and was really pissed they killed him. I had to know who the actor was because I thought he was amazing! The fight scene when they first start to fight at the end when DM comes outomg my fav part! Ever since this movie I have been kind of obsessed with Ray Park. I would love to meet him. I too have heard how pleasant he is to meet. I cant wait to see GI Joe and snake eyes has always been my favorite!

I had no clue of this "nerd-rage" against Ray Park until just now. WOW! This is actually news for me. I've had a fan-girl crush on him since I saw him in Star Wars The Phantom Menace. I knew that wasn't his real voice and that it was dubbed over with another actor, which is fine with me cause Ray Park still did all the stunts.
I seriously don't see why people are so against him like that. Why are they saying he is a bad actor though? I honestly don't see how they can say that. Here is some bad acting with a only a few lines if they want to complain that bad
(my apologizes to the man who filmed/acted in this)
I may be the only person in the boards that actually has the movie Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever (lol). I didn't think it was THAT bad (forgive my sarcasm). Sure not the greatest movie ever made and they over-dramatized a lot (like the nicknames and soap opera situations with Banderas and Toto's characters)but I've seen worse acting in an "A-listed" movie. Ray Park's Ross character was one of the good things in that movie.
Forgive me, I tend to ramble in posts like these.
I grew up with G.I. Joe, so having Ray Park play my favorite character from that is a dream come true. I'm looking forward to seeing that movie big time. I think Ray Park playing Snake Eyes is the main reason for A LOT of people are thrilled to see the movie as well. I still don't want to wait over a week from today to see this movie! D:< (lol)
I'm a loyal fan of the show Heroes, and he was casted to play in this upcoming season. So you can only image my geekdom and fan-girl-ness having him play in one of my favourite shows. I look forward to what he can bring to the show, si2000nce the rating for Heroes went down in season III. I think casting him was a good choice and will probably help with the storyline and rating combine. At least I hope so.
How relevant this is or not, I'm not anything like an expert of martial arts, but I do know how to dance (a bit of latin and breakdancing), and I can only image how rough it would be to do that sort of skill for a movie/show. So I only wish that people would just shut up and stop complaining about Ray Park being from the UK and performing Wushu for the screen. The guy won medals for his skills, that's better than an Oscar in my opinion.
With all that said, yah, I'm a geek, a comic book nerd, a chick, a fangirl for Ray Park and I hope his career in the film industry continues for a long time. Okay, I'm done rambling. (lmao)

Well they dubbed his voice in Star Wars: TPM. But it was only like three lines. The rest was him acting quite effectively in a menacing manner without using his voice. He did more effectiveacting IMO then Hayden C did as Anakin. Now there's a guy who can't act and thus really hurt the prequels.

i had no idea their was nerd rage against Ray Park. that is so pathetic as a guy i think he is amazing and one of the only reasons i am actually going to go watch G.I. Joe. i think he is amazing and so does my friends. Even though he had only like seconds in Fanboys i was pumped to see him in it and thought his secs of screen time were funny as hell pulling out the night sticks and twilrling and everything that was sick. People who are mad at Ray Park should get over it he is way good and better than many he would make a better Batman than Bale i believe after reading that blog of someones. He is talented and you nerd ragers jsut get over yourself and stop being mad at a skilled person tht could beat you in less than 10 seconds flat with one hand as he is a very skilled martial artist
