Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Bob Peck

    pat-oddy — 20 years ago(June 01, 2005 12:00 AM)

I saw loads of Bob Peck in the late 70s and 80s when he was a regular with the RSC. Performances like Macduff in Ian McKellen's 'Macbeth' stand out. he had a kind of dangerous, angry feel about him. My favourite TV performance is 'Edge of darkness' which is just incredible. I still get upset when I watch my tapes of it and realise he is dead it is so hard to believe.

Yeah, and at least he doesn't die in the book. At least not that I can remember.

In earlier drafts of the script he wasnt supposed to die. I wish they kept one of those for the movie. Also he was supposed to come back in the lost world with scars from the raptor, but unfortunatly due to being sick he couldnt do the roll and changed the character into Rollin Tembo. Muldoon was also my favorite character in the book and movie.
                RIP BOB PECK
Cancer is more dangerous than a raptor.

I think it was probably best that he didn't return. He was great in the original and despite his powerful performance, seeing him in a poor sequel wouldn't be as good. Its best that he stuck with the original.

Yes, I agree with you completely. Bob Peck was one of the greats and he will most certainly be missed.

I just saw "The Kitchen Toto" a few days ago. I was surprised when I found out that the police officer also starred in "Jurassic Park" and "Smilla's Sense of Snow".
So, while Bob Peck may no longer be with us, I'll always be able to remember him for these three roles.

He'll always be one of my favorite actors, I knew him as a child from Jurasick Park and since then I loved his work.

I just saw the entire Edge of Darkness, I never heard of Peck before, but he struck me as a very charismatic actor. I'm sorry to hear he's no more. 😞
Oh, btw, I think he was very sexy. Extremely good looking man.
