I just saw the entire Edge of Darkness, I never heard of Peck before, but he struck me as a very charismatic actor. I'm sorry to hear he's no more. 😞
Oh, btw, I think he was very sexy. Extremely good looking man.

A great actor and a lovely man, taken much too soon, always bought a warmth and humility to his roles..
          Loved him in;
          Jurassic Park
          After Pilkington
          A TV Dante
          On the Black Hill
          Edge of Darkness
          Centrepoint
          The Merchant of Venice
          Slipstream
If he were still alive i believe he would be wowing film audiences worldwide much like Ian Holm is..

I remember writing to Bob one time and asked for a signed photo. He was kind enough to send a signed photo back (it read: For James from Bob Peck) along with a personal reply as well. So you can imagine how delighted I was. As I was only expecting the photo. He sounded really nice in the response he made to my letter. Now though I wish I'd have made a better effort of a letter than the one I sent him originally. Made the letter a bit longer than it was. And it wasn't too long after I wrote to Bob that I found out he had died. It couldn't have been any more than a year maybe two tops. It does make me sad to think of Bob and realize that he is no longer with us. In the letter I told him things like how much I liked movies and the size of my video tape collection and also that I thought Jurassic Park would have been better if he was in it longer. His character survived in the book, it took me 8 months to read the book though. I think I spoke of other things as well not sure though as it's been a long time since I wrote the letter.
R.I.P Bob. You might be gone. But you wont ever be forgotten.
                James (a fan from Scotland).

Awww James, such a sweeet thing to do. Take some time to tell someone how much you appreciate themtell them how happy they make you..let them understand that they make the world a better place by being in ityou can't go wrong. Your letter would have made him smile.hopefully he read it. Blessings to you.
And yes he was a great actor. Edge of Darkness had me on the edge of my seat!

I got a response from Bob along with a signed picture. The writing on the picture was the same as the writing on the letter I got back. It was really kind of Mr Peck to take the time to respond to me. Most stars don't take the time to respond to fans. I have the utmost respect for movie stars that interact with fans be it signing photos and/or writing back to them. Bob definitely seemed really nice in his response. And it is now that I wish I'd written a longer and better letter than the one I did. I've yet to see Edge of Darkness. Is it about a colonel in the army gone rogue in the jundle near Saigon and someone is sent to take him down with extreme predujice?. This is what the Iron Maiden song "Edge of Darkness" is about. The reason I ask is because Iron Maiden tend to have a rep for writing songs based on books and movies they like.

Just watched Edge of Darkness, came to my attention due to the new Mel Gibson movie.
Very enjoyable and Bob Peck is a stand-out performer. His character in Jurassic Park was one of my favorites as well. A cool, charismatic presence, he has a quiet intensity that reminds me of Daniel J Travanti in hill Street Blues. Ben Foster has a similar intensity, and is also one of my favorites.
I will be certain to seek out more of his films.
Very sad to read he died so young.

He stands out, among a superb ensemble cast, in the magnificent RSC version of
The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby
: his performances in two very different roles are equally arresting. I am not a fan of that version of
                            Macbeth
: McKellen and Dench, both capable of great things, overact in an off-putting way; but Peck shines as ever. Then, of course, he is absolutely astounding in
                            Edge of Darkness
                            .
