Never said he wasn't smart I just said he probably wasn't qualified.
I said the administration tend to pick people because of their status in the academic social circles, pop trendy, like Sanjay Gupta. Smart as a whip but clearly a media personality. -

In all seriousness he was under qualified. It was political patronage, Obama was helping a buddy out for campaigining for him. And it actually kind of sends wrong racial messages as well. Obama appointed him saying his was in touch with his Indian roots and all of his films make fun of his heritage.

The one thing that I at least liked about the horrible Bush administration is that they didn't care if a person came from the Ivy League or not, as long as they understood the agenda and were willing to promote it.
How did that work out? Remember FEMA's response to Hurricane Katrina? Would that beep have anything to do with the fact that the Head of 238FEMA was a horse breeder with no qualifications whatsoever other than being W's buddy?

Actually the aftermath of Katrina was played up by the media and overly emotional liberal Hollywood clowns like Kanye West and Spike Lee who tried to convince the public it was Bush's fault and some kind of racial conspiracy that rescue efforts were slow and the situation was bad, Spike Lee even went so far as to say the gov blew up the levee's to drown out the city despite having no proof. New Orleans has a lower land level then the surrounding shore and needs a levee system, it is a disaster waiting to happen. The people of New Orleans were warned that the hurricane was going to be devastating and it would be very difficult to help them if they stayed, thousands ignored the warnings and stayed. The hurricane was worse then predicted and it was impossible to mount a large scale rescue effort considering the damage and chaos. Remember that Nagen and the governor did not declare New Orleans a disaster area either until later which delayed Federal response. Lets not even go into many of the residents of New Orleans fighting with each other, robbing each other, shooting at cops, looting, etc which hurt recovery efforts, this behavior did not happen in Mississippi that saw similar 5b4damage from Katrina. It did not matter who was in charge of FEMA, the same results would have happened after a major storm like Katrina that caused so much destruction and damage, if people think after something like Katrina there will be some immediate thorough speedy efficient response from the gov they are foolish and naive. The media wanted to blame and hate Bush and that is exactly what they did after Katrina.
There were people still without power months after Hurricane Sandy and that was nowhere near as damaging or bad as Katrina, people are still waiting for money to rebuild from Sandy yet the media is completely silent on that.
