When people make movies they have to actually give ethnicities of the actors to all the unions and the unions have to make sure there are people of all ethnicities proportionatly represented. Seriously - do you really think Kal Penn would have a job as an actor if that was not the case?

You are an idiot
especially if you think EVER ethnicity is represented in house. Ah, yes..
African-American? Check
Indian? Check
Caucasian? Check
Jewish? Check
Australian? Check
WOW, House sure has every ethnicity covered -

Well for starters, I don't understand why you(OP) needed to post this twice *coughcough
troll
*, and second, he was one of my favorites on House and I hated to see him go, but it was pretty sweet the way he left. It was the first time, I believe, where House was completely baffled by someone's actions. Took him for a spin and developed his character even more IMO.

The last two posts are obviously by Kal Penn himsel cause no one would defend his acting. I agree he suited his part in Harold and Kumar because it involved an Indian dude just walking around being high but in House he was terrible. it litereally pulled me out of the story every time it came on him because he was totally not in the scene. Ib68t was almost like a crew member accidentally walked on the set.

He was great in House truthfully it's the women Olivia and Jennifer fans complain about the most for their characters or acting skills. The series is very demanding time wise it would be hard for Kal to be in the series and work for The White House.House creator David Shore has tried to clear up all the misconceptions about Kal's leaving but people believe what they want to.

So some idiot was claiming that there is a union rule for diversity, then some bigger idiot claimed that it doesn't exist. That bigger idiot has never watched an all-state commercial.
The hip thing to do is to ALWAYS cast characters that are of different ethnicities, especially in kids shows. It's so obvious that it's mind numbing. They'll take movies set in rural New England or North Dakota and insert several black and latino characters, and let's not forget the mandatory Asian children.
Look at Andy Griffith, Petty Coat Junction, and Beverly Hillbillies. All shows that had no problem casting the demographic that they are shooting.
Now look at The Storm of the Century, and Phenomenon. Heck, watch any episode of 24. It is a requirement of every season to have at least 1 black main character and 1 other ethnicity, usually latino, that plays a major role in almost half of the episode. (Save a single season, they also go to extreme lengths to cast less middle Easterners and more European characters)
If you don't notice, you're stupid. And boiling down a person's qualifications to be in a TV show based on the color of his skin IS racism! Especially when their only value as an actor is to reach an arbitrary quota of colors.
I don't16d0 believe that Kumar was cast in house for this reason but Foreman was and they make fun of that fact in almost every episode. (It's also the reason why 13 is a lesbian, but let's not get into that)
It's not a mandatory rule, it is an expectation of our culture. The fact that Hollywood continues to go along with it is ridiculous.
I do want to say that I like Forest Whitaker and I in now way mean to say that he is a bad actor. Only that he and the Portugese speaking family were misplaced in Phenomenon for retarded cultural diversity quotas.
