I started re-watching Cheers recently as well and I just came to imdb.com to say exactly what you said.
I just love her as Carla. However, I also love that her and Danny Devito have been married for sooo long they are the cutest couple EVER!

I'd like to say I had nothing to do with it however, the same damn thing recently happened when I commented on how cute Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis were together and how I thought those two would make it for a very long time.
They separated 2 weeks later.
Soooo, anyone want to nix their spouse? Lemme know and I'll give you some good reviews. hahaha

I don't think anyone on the show could hold a candle to Shelley Long.
It always seemed to me like they were all very good sitcom actors and Shelley Long belonged on Broadway. Shelley's expression and timing were absolutely impeccable.
