An awesome voice

Steve Perry definately WAS one of the best voices in rock! The reason he IS not one of the best today or since the late nineties is because he is retired and he DOES NOT want to sing publicly anymore, he does not want to record anymore! He wants to live a private life, not a public one! He has not even worked as a lead vocalist since "Trial By Fire" which came out in 1996 and guess what that was eight years ago, eight long years. If he were to come back it would not be with Journey, he would be solo with another band! Neal, Jon, and Ross would never be in favor of it. Also, is the fact that in Steve's own words "There is no going back!". Besides that, the band has a lead vocalist, who is awesome, and unless you have seen him, you can't really say anything negative! If S.A. is not to your taste, ok fine, don't listen to them anymore and don't put other people down for still wanting to listen to them! Just b/c you don't like him does not mean he is not of the same caliber as S.P. I know people who like Journey's music more today with S.A. on lead then when it first came out. There are a few songs that I personally like the new versions better b/c I think, at times, Perry could be over the top in his perormance, watch the Greatest Hits dvd to see what I'm talking about. Think of it this way, I can not stand some of this new stuff that passes as music todayKorn, NIN, Rage Against The Machine, and many others that just scream into a microphone, run their fingers across a guitar, or pound on the drums without even trying to keep time. My point is that I don't listen to those groups to remind myself that I don't like them.

Actually, what you read somewhere is that there is a standing invation for him to perform with the band at any show that they are already performing at, this may or may not come true at the Walk of Fame concert that is set for next week at the House of Blues in Hollywood, the band is going to be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Jan. 21, 2005. You mean he has not "accecpeted" and he never will. I at least do not see it happening. You think he does not want to sing for awhile! Try this: he does not want to sing ever again, at least not in the top spotlight that he was in before. You and the other Perry-heads out there need to move on with your lives. Think of it this way: Say the boss you work for wanted to retire, so he could spend time with family and do things that he always wanted to but never h16d0ad time. Now that the new boss has taken over, you and one of your co-workers are giving him a hard time because you like your first boss better. Since you don't like your new boss, you have two options: 1. Move on and find another job, where you will have a boss that you like better. 2. You can give the boss a chance and deal with it. What I'm saying is don't keep hoping that your boss will come back, because he most likely will not.
