      I found this on-line:
"DID STEVE PERRY HAVE THROAT CANCER?
Steve Perry did not have throat cancer. During the writing and recording of "Raised On Radio," Steve's mother was diagnosed with cancer and occasionally he took time away from the band to be with her and to take her to the clinic.
In the middle of his For The Love of Strange Medicine tour, Steve Perry contracted bronchitis and was forced to cancel several shows to recover from the illness. After the tour restarted, he contracted severe asthmatic bronchitis. Again, he was forced to cancel several shows and finally the rest of the tour."

But the fact that Steve Perry did not have throat cancer was confirmed on several other websites.

                Thank you!
When I saw this thread on the list, I started getting worried.
                Thanks for clarifying this.
                😄

Yes, his voice has changed, he sang too much at a high pitch. Sad
