See that's silly to make a guy gain weight for a role like that. There's plenty of other actors that could have handled that small role without having to mess up their body with massive weight gain.

Agreed. He looks like he gained 60-70 pounds. If you're gonna win an Oscar that makes sense, but keeping that much weight for a smaller role seems crazy. He looks like randy from trailer park boys

Im pretty sure it was for Fargo and the makers of Black mass didnt mind.

Just saw "Other People", so this explains a lot. Hopefully he can get back into shape.
