Edmund Purdom made a fine Student Prince, with help from Mario Lanza.
His looks and personality.and Mario's singing.. Worked for me!
However, The Egyptian was all E.P. - and a very under-estimated film it was at the time. Yet, it holds up so very well over 50 years later.
A grand effort by all the cast and crew.
Edmund went on to have a huge career in European films, (as Hollywood and /or he himself decided on that path.)
He made it to 85 - and then promptly farewelled us on January 1st 2009.
I for one won't forget this handsome and hard-working actor, who had his own unique style.
His role of Sinhue, The Egytian, in particular, will forever stay with me.
That, and his role as Karl, the Student Prince.
(Deep in my Heart, Dear, I have a dream of you.).

I saw him in 'Titanic' and he was quite breath-taking!

I so agree. I just watched Titanic tonight on blu ray for the first time and was impressed with his acting and also him being so attractive. I am suprised he was not in more mainstream Hollywood pictures after that.
