I was just watching the Dukes of Hazzard season 1 dvds and in the commentary for the first episode Catherine Bach says Denver Pyle was born on christmas day aswell as passing away on christmas day. On here it says he was born on 11 May. Any ideas?

That may have been exactly what you heard, I have no idea. IMDB tends to mix alot of bios together and sometimes gets misinformed.
For example: If you tend to keep up with WWE Raw on USA, then you know who I'm talking about when I say Lilian Garcia. In reality, she is not much older than me being born in 1973 but IMDB has her listed as being born in 1966.

i wondered that myself. I have heard he was born on christmas day too and i have also read on here that he was born in may.
