Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Denver Pyle

I was looking at the biographies of Denver Pyle and Doris Day. I noticed that Denver Pyle was born in 1920 and Doris Day in 1924. Denver Pyle played Doris's father on her hit show "The Doris Day Show" and it's amazing that he could play her father so well and he was only 4 yrs older than her! I never knew that! He has always looked older with the white hair and beard that he was able to carry it off convincingly. He was very talented and I loved him playing Buck and he played a very likable father to Doris Day's character! They had a very good chemistry as father and daughter!

His date of birth can't possibly be correct. Just watch his guest starring role on The Dick Van Dyke Show. If his DOB WERE correct, he would have been 43 on that episode looks like he's closer to 63.

Yeah, I renumber being shocked when I found out how old he really was. I would have never guessed as a kid he was only in his fifties when he was on
        Grizzly Adams

        No blah, blah, blah!
