i think the worst thing is that he didnt even work for his "status" in hollywood. Look into his career and its process. He has no passion. Just got lucky in a field he's not meant to be in. He doesn't love film like a great director should. He's all about money. Why else would he put out 3 oh so sub-par movies in the "Rush Hour" debacle. This guy should be fixing my broken toilet or serving my soup not trying, and failing, to entertain me and anyone else with a brain.

He killed X-Men, well actually Singer killed them by leaving the project for Superman, but it was Ratner who buried them.

You've obviously never heard of Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedburg. They should be charged with crimes against humanity. Just watch the Disaster Movie trailer and tell me you're not scarred for life.

Ratner even help kill the Hannibal franchise. That crap remake of Manhunter was an abomination.even with all that A list talent. I know why he keep getting projectsbecause his films make money. If you ever want this guy to disappear then stop going to his films. It's as simple as that. Maybe his next film might give hope as it does not seem to be a comedy. It's about the Rat Pack shown through the eyes of their valet. It's not an action and it doesn't seem to be a comedy. However, if he screws this up, then he's in some serious trouble.

I agree with eevrything you said except.. Prison Break is a very successful show enetering the 4th season. It is a great show, and Brett Ratner is an exec producer in name only. He has directed only 1 episode. He has nothing to do with the show anymore. Just had to stick up for the show, not Brett.
Please continue the hating of Mr Ratner

I can honestly say that I hate Bret Ratner. I had to buy X3 to complete the X-Men trilogy, but I had to think about my credible DVD collection before adding it. I just heard that he is "attached" to direct my favorite video game, God of War. I seriously want to punch this guy in the head. Die, Rat, Die.

Brett is a total goof! The guy makes all his movies look the same. Why big studios keep giving him big titles is beyond me. I think they should STOP!!! RIGHT NOW! and give him so low budget, indy films to shoot! He clearly has no right to be directing movies with budgets that exceed 20 million! He is a pure waste of film! There ain't one original concept to his movies, and its like he simply lets the actors do whatever the hell they please!
If I was an actor, and my agent sent me on an audition to one of his movies I would FIRE my agent, but not before I took it upon myself to kick his As$! Every single one of his movies FLOP, with the pure exception of Rush Hour, and that was only because it was the first, and it had Jackie Chan.
I am officially declaring a state of HATE on Brett "ratface" Ratner, and all of his BS movies!

You guys don't know what your talking aboutLet me give you a few reasons to why Brett Ratner could be considered a good Director
1.Steven Spielberg had faith in him and initially got him started in Directing (cr1c84edibility point # 1 )
                            2. His movies gross a LOT of money.people like his moviespeople think his movies are good..(credibility point # 2)
                            3. Very big established actors want to work in his projects ( Pierce Brosnan, Patrick Stewart, Ian Mckellen, Jackie Chan ( Who may be one of the biggest star in the world) (credibility point # 3)
                            4. If you enjoy action cinema you will appreciate how his movies are shotAn action movie fan who doesn't like his movies IMO just has poor taste
                            This is the dumbest thread.

In this article it mentions the steven spielberg funfact
                                http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/celebrity/brett_ratner
he didn't produce anything but it's a hell of a gesture for "the Spielberg" to give a random newcomer a production grant, and may instantiate just a "smidgeon" of crediblity I think
Im just sayin that in terms of pure enjoymentthe majority of america disagrees with you guys when you say these are not good movies
I consider my self the typical action fan.I've been into martial arts and sports my whole life, and have been going to movies every friday(hehe well almost every friday) for the last 15 yearstheyre my passion and I grade them solely on enjoyment and how psyched I feel when I leave the movie theater. And Brett just delivers that formula I want..
I may have come off too harsh with the "bad taste" line, I'll take that backSome people just have different tastes I suppose
And I will say that X-Men 3 was a disaster, but I believe thats really the only exception and I hear he didn't have too much time to really work with the project

LOL I sure as hell would show up to the midnight showing of Rush Hour 4
arguing back and forth like this is going to prove futilewe'll just say I have a different opinion then those who started this thread lob68l
WAtch any of the behind the scenes fottage from a Brett Ratner Movie ( I suggest After the Sunset), and you'll see this mans talent and passion for film-making It might even turn u into a fan
You can't make it big in Hollywood on connections alonecmon nowThats just some weak rationale
