After watching RH3 I'd say the franchise has run out of steam.

      Don't count on it
Ruch Hour 3 was probably the best of the three, but I have to say "probably" seeing as I cannot decide which of the three is the best, or if they are equally good.
BUT, even though I'm sure they could make a fourth and make a lot of money on it no matter what, I doubt they'll do that, as they kinda ended the third, as a good trilogy would end. Just saying

You're kidding right? Rush Hour 3 was terrible. I loved the first two, but the third one was a cold formula of the first two. It was pathetic. It's like they took out any part that involved story that didn't have action. And the movie was only 80 minutes! It's not like it would have bee too long if they added story.

I was born 1989,started regularly going to the cinema in 2006.So saw in the cinema X3, Spidey 3, Rush Hour 3, THe Mummy 3, Fantastic Four 2, Batman 2 and 3.
But X3 was Ratners film as well, and I loved it,the story was good and the 2+ hours passed quickly to not become boring.
First Class and Spidey reboot in 2011 and 2012 are my generations x-men I guess.
Well,Iron Man will be first trilogy I see fully in the cinema(outside of Transformers and Harry Potter 3-8)
But point is,are you saying third chapter of each franchise is a cold formula ? Transformers 3 is considered much better than 2 by many, and Batman 3 was also good !?
What is your latest number 3 movie you liked? maybe there is a trend here. Was it LOTR 3 or Matrix 3 ,american pie 3 ? all came out in 2003.

Rush Hour 3 killed the series. I'd much rather have a 3rd Shanghai movie.
              Rush Hour 1 = Good
              Rush Hour 2 = Alright
Rush Hour 3 = Absolute Garbage

The first Rush Hour was enjoyable. It was just an entertaining action/comedy. Shallow plot, funny at the right moments, and it was the first time Jackie Chan was doing an American action/comedy, so they were still more focused on his incredible martial arts and stunt work rather than his comedic relief.
The second one took everything that worked in the first and just overdid it. More comedy, which mainly consisted of rehashed jokes from the first one, less action, an even more shallow plot, etc. Rush Hour 2 was a horrible sequel just trying to cash in as much as possible on the success of the first.
The 3rd was even more of the same. Running only a mere 80 minutes, even less action, cheap laughs (and more rehashed jokes from the 1st AND 2nd this time), and, let's face it, Jackie Chan is just getting to old to impress with his martial arts these days, which is only natural. Rush Hour 3 was just another excuse to make a quick buck on, and that's what they did.
They could totally make a Rush Hour 4, and it wouldn't surprise me if they did. And it won't surprise me when it makes a crap load of money, and it won't surprise me when people who actually understand what a good movie is won't give this one the time of day.

RUSH HOUR 4 = A Great Idea. Great movies, Great actors, and a smart business decision. Get everyone and everything lined up again and get this one going.

I just came here to say the same thing. Forget all of those remakes and make Rush Hour 4 before Jackie Chan gets too old.

                      Why? The
                      Rush Hour
films have run out of steam. Even the 2nd film was unnecessary. The 3rd one sealed the series' fate.
This is my murder-swagger, I wear the skin-trophy of my prey.
