Whatever happened to her? I always liked this fine, foxy sister. She was in my top 10! I was a big fan, but never wrote to her to get a picture. Now her address is probably unknown. I could kick myself. The love I lost. thanks for letting me vent. Mel

What happened to her is the 64,000,000 dollar question (inflation). She had the best screen presence of any actress (Black or other wise) of her time. I would hope some casting director would realize what a gold mine she is and bring her out of retirement. I'm writing to the Screen Actors Guild in hopes of getting further information. Tony D.

Not only did Ms. Reed have a lovely TV presence, but she appeared on the big screen also. I remember such memorable films like "A Piece of the Action" and "Running Scared" (where she bared her beautiful naked behind). Ms. Reed also appeared regularly on the anthology comedy series "Love238, American Style". I remember her particularly in those bathing suits during the short "black out" skits from that series. Reflecting back to 1970 with her series "Barefoot in the Park", the writing wasn't all that great, but I never cared as long as Ms. Reed got plenty of screen time in front of the camera.

Yes, I agree. The truth is that she never really acheived "star" status and was never a household name. But yes she was one of the sexiest, finest black actresses that I ever saw on TV (or even on film for that matter).Halle Berry couldn't have touched her with even a 10-foot pole! I wondered what ever happened to her? Becuase of her current age, I imagine that offer for acting roles are scarce.

Yeah she was looking real good in that waitress uniForm!! I used to write Jet & Ebony & ask why they never gave as much ink as Jayne Kennedy and some other women. They wouldn't ever reply to my letters. I guess they didn't like criticism. Players Mens Mag. was another publication that literally shunned this goddess. Why I'll never know. I glad to see I'm not alone admiring her. I'm going to see if Ebay has any pics of her for sale. I could never get enough of Tracy Reed! Mel.

She looked nice in Death of a Centerfold, even better than Jamie Lee Curtis.
"Even better than Jamie Lee Curtis?"
Jamie Lee Curtis is average. Tracy Reed is drop dead gorgeous. Jamie cannot be compared to Tracy at all. -

I thought she was sooo fine and sexy in CAR WASH as Mona. HolySh@@! I mean that Fly Dude was just smitten with here when he played the jukebox in the diner and was lipping the words to the song "I wanna get next to you".

Yeah, I totally agree. But that was always my problem with this movie. It was too unrealistic, particularly in regard to Mona (Tracy Reed).
As hot as she was, "Fly" would NOT have been the lone guy in that restaurant pursuing her. Most likely, that place would have been filled on a daily basis with men trying to "get next to" her. And at the end of the movie, after the Fly makes his speech about no prince is going to come in here and sweep you off your feet (which is unrealistic because her looks alone could have easily attracted a rich guy), they make it seem as if she has no other option but to go out with the "Fly" because no other man would take her out.
Yeah, right.
