I only seen this guy in Robin Hood: Men in tights, but that was enough. He's so funny. I think he was one of the few characters in the movie funny just by himself, without any sort of joke or prop to help him.

He is the best, specially in real life. I met him once at a reading of a play he directed and since I was a playwright apprentice in the summer program at the college was the reading was, he invited me and the rest of the cast (which included Alan Ruck, "Cameron" in Ferris Bueller). It was fantastic. At the end, he gave me a big hug, every though he didn't really know me and kissed me on my ear. It was great!

Yea I met him once too, seemed like a good guy. I remember seeing him, and knew for sure that I had seen him somewhere, but couldn't remember where. I overheard him talking to someone, while I was nearby, and heard mention of Robin Hood Men in tights. Then it clicked that he was the sheriff in that movie so I couldn't resist chiming into the conversation, "oh that's where i've seen you". He responsed by saying, "yea I was the guy that was hanging upside down off the horse."
He's the only somewhat famous person I've ever spoken to. Good times -

I never would have pegged him as "funny" when I saw him today as "william tyndale" in the movie "God's Outlaw" (we watched it in my church history class)- he looked so familiar so I am totally glad to recognize "oh yeah, he was in robin hood!") But he can play straight, non funny character who ends up getting burned at the stake, too

Spidergags,
I am currently into watching season eight of Cheers. It's so funny and Roger is so cute. In response to your questions about his family - I've read on another IMDB post that he's gay - but I don't know if whoever posted that is correct. But the only site I've been to and many other sites biographies of Roger are extremely lacking in personal details, so maybe he's just that type of guy who really values his privacy. -

Yeah, the is he married/is he gay topic seems to be a popular question. Apparently there was a thing in the newspaper that he and his partner had bought a place in Manhatten, but it didn't say male or female partner. A lot of people see "partner" and assume its a same sex person, but there are a lot of people who call their2000 significant other who they've been with for a long time, but aren't married to their partner so who knows?
But regardless, Roger is made of adorableness and is amazingly talented! -

He's also very funny, albeit in a more subtle way, as the often-drunk, always-womanizing Lord John Marbury on "The West Wing." He's always making overtly sexual comments about the First Lady and can never get Leo's name right. Leo and the President rather regard him as a pain in the ass. I loved him!

I've liked his performances in everything I've seen him in, from "Robin Hood: Man in Tights" to "Titanic" (tv) to "A Midsummer Night's Dream" to "The Prestige."

I just watched "Men in tights again" He's so funny in that! But I also love him in other things also. He's McPhereson in "Warehouse 13" And you know he may be 63 but he is still sexy! I'll tell you what! It doesn't matter if he's playing a good guy or a bad guy I still love him!

Roger Rees is fantastic! He can play the villain and the good guy to equal avail. It's a shame he's not more well known in the U.S. Robin Hood: Men in Tights was comedy gold, and he made a very endearing Fred Scrooge.
