I also remember him in a short lived kid's show on saturday mornings, called "Uncle Croc's Block" (as the title character). Jonathan Harris(another scenery chewer) also starred as Basil Bitterbottom, the show's producer. Both Reilly and Harris were way overqualified for this show, and I seem to remember that it was a spoof of kiddie show hosts.

I've always remembered that monstrosity. I've seen it on youtube or somewhere online, and don't recall Harris at all, tho I've seen he was on the show.
But overall, it was dreadful.
Amazingly, I liked the tune. I used to sing a poem about a grasshopper to it in school.
And I recall the cartoons; MUSH (standing for Mangy Unwanted Sorry Heroes, like MASH.
And Fraidy Cat, who was the ninth cat of the nine lives, so he knew he was it. The other eight lives would appear to him as ghosts, like one was a cowboy cat and another was from the Roman era, the first one being a caveman cat, and so on.
It was quickly banished to Sunday in my neck of the woods.
